Politico: "Will SNL Take Down Trump?"Me: "Does anybody watch SNL anymore?"
To: PJ-Comix
Do People still watch SNL?
No real people, only the born losers with no jobs, still living at home with Mommy/Daddy, and believing that Illiarily will help them, are the late night shows like SNL watchers.
They can stay up late every night, because they dont have a job requiring a good nights sleep!
Most don’t have the energy to register to vote, and then they will not vote because it will be a task!

I suspect Trump is entirely too well-known to Palinize him on SNL. He’s already his own self-caricature, and it doesn’t seem to hurt him.
To: PJ-Comix
He should buy ads on it, the kind that counter the content of the show.

Every time there is an SNL thread here on Free Republic, people are quick to respond as you did, basically a variation on "nobody's watched that show in decades."
Wishful thinking. SNL is actually more watched today than it was in the so-called "golden years" of Belushi, Radner and Aykroyd. Millions of people have it as an app on their mobile devices and clips from the show go viral on social media.
One can quibble about whether the show is as funny as it was back when but it is an indisputable fact that is more watched today.
I don't think that SNL has the ability to "Palinize" Trump as they did with Sarah. Trump is a known commodity and people expect him to be the object of the kind of satire that SNL does. Trump's a good sport about it too. He's hosted the show a couple of times and I wouldn't be surprised if he made another live appearance on the show before the election.

Only in the mind of a liberal. Yup... I once saw an article that had listed "The Daily Show" on Comedy Central as a top news source for liberals.
If SNL can influence someone politically, that person is so stupid he already votes democrat.

I do thank SNL for allowing Trump to host and Alec Baldwin for allowing Palin on The Match Game.

None of their 83 viewers were even considering voting for Trump anyway. SNL has long been a sad pathetic echo of their former iterations.

I do miss Floyd and Earl, lol and Count Floyd as well. Liked how it dealt with both American and Canadian subject material.

Trump has been a target of SNL for over 20 years. Nothing new.

Do you know what the real purpose of NBC's Saturday Night Live is? If you thought comedy, you would be wrong according to Politico everyone who has seen an episode in the last 15 years.Fixed.

I think Kate McKinnon will be just as brutal on Hillary.
Chevy Chase didn't take down Gerald Ford, and this year's cast will not take down Trump.

SNL might have some effect on the election, but first they’ll have to hurry their lefty asses up and attract considerably more than their current 2,655 viewers.

It's too late for SNL to impact this election. They'll only come off as bullies while disregarding the intelligence of their audience.
Everybody with half a brain already knows Hillary is a lying sack and sick dog, while Trump is a very compelling option.
To: RegulatorCountry
Also, Trump probably knows ALL the production staff and cast members of Saturday Night Live, given Trump's New York City residency (the cast and crew of the show obviously lives in the New York metropolitan area). In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he makes a surprise appearance on the show within the next few weeks, of all things.

I haven't watched this sad, agenda-driven jape, this allegedly unrecognizable ghost of its former self since Murray and Belushi left.
