It's Time To Get the Mainstream Media Out Of Presidential Debates
Frontpage ^

Posted on 09/27/2016 3:20:10 AM PDT by detective

Lester Holt's actions at the first presidential debate were inexcusable. And also unsurprising.

The day when media lefties were patient enough to believe that the system would work without being this blatant are over. They've been open this election about rejecting even the illusion of objectivity.

The only question is why do Republicans continue to allow mainstream media figures to moderate presidential debates? Lester Holt decided to debate Trump. But you can increasingly expect this kind of behavior from any media figure below a certain age to whom the concept of journalism is a dead and incomprehensible notion. Or rather, to them it means that it's their duty to attack Republicans.

Lester Holt and Hillary Clinton tag teamed Trump in the first debate. It appeared that Clinton had the questions in advance and gave memorized scripted responses to questions.

Holt regularly interrupted and contradicted Trump. He also set up Trump for scripted Clinton attacks.

Hillary did not get a single question about her server, her emails, the Clinton foundation or her many foreign policy failures. Trump was continually asked hostile questions.

Despite all this Trump did well.

Trump came off as honest and genuine. He understood the problems with the economy. Clinton came off as scripted and phony. Clinton seemed like she was reciting memorized talking points with no relation to her record.

Trump came off as genuine, a real person. Clinton came off as scripted and robotic.

Trump won.

They should have two moderators. Each candidate gets to choose one who then directs questions to the opponent.

You would have had a much different debate if Michelle Malkin was the Mod. She knows her subjects and ask tough questions.

I agree. Letting lefties control all the debates is insanity. If I were the nominee I’d take the position that if the moderators were not true neutrals, then there would be no debates.

I love this idea. The more they can be marginalized, the better for America.

The “mainstream media” insults and degrades the First Amendment. They are pathetically biased and irresponsibly. Get them out of the news business.

AMEN, YES! Why do we allow these PUKES to moderate these debates?

Would an intelligent, non partisan, non media questioner ask Trump about the “birther issue”?

NO! It isn’t an issue the American people care about. We lost this issue a long time ago. What difference, at this point, does it make?

It's Time To Get the Mainstream Media Out Of Presidential Debates

There NEVER was a Presidential debate without the MSM.

Television STARTED the Presidential debates.

The Presidential debates have never been anything more than a TV show.
