which goes to show you a couple of things...

one must never ever throw their vote away in a snit and hand it to the rats...never....

little things can ultimately make a big thing when too many people have a snit fit....(voting for bammy because he seemed like a nice clean light skinned black fellow and by golly, we need to have our first black president)...

too many having snit fits and we've got Al Franken in Minn and bammey the boy wonder....

secondly...if you are given a chance to stand up and be a leader DO IT!

I know America has got strong men/women out there to be leaders, to be outspoken, and confident, and those our gifts from God and HE expects them to be used...

Ditka !! Humble is not a word I’d associate with him. And I don’t mean that as a criticism.

He was either too humble or too lazy—the job is basically an impossible one, so no one is really suited for it and it will leave one unsatisfied, but as he was best suited for it, he should have manned up and gone to Washington.

Not that I blame him for not going.

Stopping Obama would have been enough.

Having a Senator of Ditka’s caliber from Illinois would be amazing—I don’t know when the last time was that Illinois had a senator that good.

Possibly Everett Dirksen, back in the post-World War II era.

If only he had run against Obama for senate. History may have been different.

Fitzgerland wasn’t perfect but he’s gold compared to Kirk.

But yes, Dirksen was the last great IL Senator.

Someone shoot Colin in the kneecap and it all becomes moot. Because no one gives a damn what a former profootballer says.

Now that he’s outed himself.... anywhere but Hollywood! LOL!

Wish we could send this thread to him.

My Dad recently passed away but he was a Bears season ticket holder all his life. He absolutely loved Coach Ditka.

I’m sorry for you loss. It hurts to lose pop, I know.

You said recently. I will say prayers for you and yours.

I bet he was/is a great man.

I bet he watched (like we all did) the Bears with the SB way back in the 80s? with the Refrigerator!!! :)

The QB has some pretty bad brain damage. he took a lot of hits.

That begs the question—why can’t NFL players self police the game? It makes me wonder why some conservatives hold up the NFL as some sort of conservative analogy to life or success. They allow fruity celebration dances and chest slapping displays with no retaliation for being a jerk. No one cares about that crap enough to stop it from happening? Or does each game mean too much for anyone to discipline the jerks or what?

OMG, the Refrigerator! Yes! My dad was an attorney in Chicago and represented Walter and Payton for an incident at Mr. Payton's restaurant. Sweetness! My dad was so thrilled to represent him. Definitely a highlight of his career. ☺

That is AWESOME. I am glad that you’re dad must have been SO HAPPY THAT year!!!

An attorney. Impressive. :)

Did you guys watch the Bears SB together or is that going too far back?

I have NO IDEA who I watched games with 30 years ago :)
