I think Goodell better start worrying. NFL's revenues are now mostly from TV rights and advertisers and if the TV ratings keep dropping, the advertisers and eventually even the TV rights holders will demand rate changes, and that will really hammer the NFL's financial bottom line.

In short, Goodell is risking the success of the NFL at the worst time possible.

I got to see Odell Beckham catch an “intentional explosive” from Eli Manning yesterday....

They were meant to be a distraction, something to take the mind off politics, wars, etc.

Exactly. Bread and circuses. The NFL (university-indoctrinated folk) has allowed their employees to destroy their very reason for being.

More proggie unintended consequences. Stupid is as stupid does. Karma is.

I watch the Cowboys. They stand for the anthem, they tried to wear the decal honoring the cops-—the NFL wouldn’t let them. That’s the best I can do.

Lifelong Redskins fan here and I've skipped both games so far. For me to miss a Redskins-Dallas matchup, especially played at home is serious business! Dallas and Washington both behaved honorably regarding the social warfare nonsense. Dallas wanted to wear a sticker that showed solidarity with the DPD and the Redskins, as a team, held the flag before game 1.

My beef isn't with these two teams, it's with the NFL. And unless the NFL apologizes and changes policy I'll sit out the season. I'm sure that has Roger Goodell shaking in his boots...

The NBA will be next. Too many publicity whores there to pass up a Star Spangled cameo.

People watch the NFL for fun, not to have protests and people to despise ON THEIR OWN TEAMS.

It’s not worth it. Period.

A colleague was telling me this morning that he and his wife went grocery shopping during the Steeler game and the store was PACKED.

Time was that you had the store or the mall to yourself whenever the Black and Gold was on the field.

I watch the Ravens they respect the military and don’t put with with thug crap. OBozo’s 9/11 address got booed by a large number of fans.

I like football, and I’ve not watched a drop of NFL yet.

Well, HIGH SCHOOL teams are now doing this. So, boycott everything? I mean, at some point it’s impossible.

I'm a life long Eagles fan (it's OK to pity me) but after some of their players said they are protesting tonight during the National Anthem I will not watch the game. After 2 cops were shot by a black man over the weekend in Philly, how dare they express this kind of sentiment. It's a slap in the face of all cops.

On a side note, I was happy to see the Philadelphia Police union has endorsed Trump for president.

I went to a Rockies game yesterday and there were lots of patriotic recognitions throughout the program.

There was a bit less enthusiasm for the Broncos game going on at the same time.

Giants fan here. Victor Cruz and Odell Beckam Jr planned to wear special cleats honoring first responders and all who lost their lives on 9-11. They were threatened with a fine for violating the league’s uniform policy. BTW, Victor Cruz’s father was a firefighter in Newark for many years before he passed away in 2007.

The NFL is determined to kill the goose that laid the golden egg. I admire the Cowboys for trying to honor the law enforcement officers who died in Dallas and individual players like Cruz and Beckam who tried to do the right thing.
