Zillow.com has certainly revolutionized the task of buying a home. And I imagine they have eliminated a ton of middlemen in the real estate biz who were inefficient and should be pursuing another line of work.
Venture capital is important for industrial products that require expense. I think there are also plenty of opportunities to fund a business more simply through good cash flow and borrowing small amounts of money that build equity for the entrepreneur.
What we need is people with the vision to know that certain services are in demand and people are willing to pay a lot for those services, then set the wheels in motion through smart positioning and hiring smart people.
Trump is the master of this game. He turned a $1 million loan from his Dad into a $10 billion business. Not bad. I think Trump has an excellent perspective on how to create wealth and jobs. We should give him a chance to help America in this way.

My friend had a great idea about doing an Uber like app for pet sitting. I did a bit of research and found out there's already a massive countrywide site that does this.
How did they get so big, so fast? Probably lots of venture capital. How did they get the venture capital? Most likely contacts made at school.
So good luck being a successful entrepreneur if you didn't go to an Ivy League. If you do come up with a great idea you'll be run over by a Mack Truck like Uber funded up the Wazoo by the father's of the founder's frat brothers.
Yes, going after national business for big consumer needs like pets or real estate puts you in competition with some very big competitors. In those markets, I would agree that the venture capital firms and connections rule.
But what about publishing services for B2B firms who need marketing and exposure for their products in niche markets?
That’s the business I’m in and there’s plenty of room for growth in industries all over the map.
I’m not surprised; a female acquaintance in her mid-30s working a full-time McJob looked forward to weekends when her grandmother would let her borrow her car.
Just sad; at that age she can definitely remember the “before-times” when things were better. The Obamunists don’t have to exterminate the middle class, just wait them out; they’re contracepting themselves into oblivion.
Every once in a while I’ll see somebody living out of their car at a big box store parking lot. I don’t ever recall seeing this before the FC.
Here in NJ we have homeless encampments like something out of “The Grapes of Wrath” (with a lot of illegals); the taxpayers want action taken, but the government doesn’t know where to put them.
We have a weekly flea market next to Giants Stadium in the Meadowlands, and more and more of the vendors are in the “used” section selling off their household goods (as they prepare to leave NJ). Others are unemployed Americans selling their tools to the illegals that took their jobs...
I am not aware of any encampments in our area. But one thing I’ve noticed since retiring is there a lot of lost souls wandering around the city during normal working hours..
That is much more common in my area than homeless encampments, since there has been no recovery at all in NE New Jersey - we are still declining. Good jobs are still declining, and many people couldn’t be bothered to work the McJobs that remain...

It is eerie to watch this unfold here in slow motion, and even more creepy to watch the talking heads on the news pretend things are getting better.
I believe a lot of the rioting among blacks is an acknowledgment on their part that despite 8 years of Obamunism, they are falling even further behind everyone else (including the foreigners arriving in hordes daily). White support for Trump is an acknowledgment that they are watching the same thing happen (and they have a lot more to lose).
