The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 48% of Likely Democratic Voters believe Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, Clinton’s primary rival, should be their party’s nominee if health issues forced her out of the race. Twenty-two percent (22%) say Vice President Joe Biden should be the nominee, while only 14% opt for Virginia Senator Tim Kaine, the current Democratic vice presidential candidate. Nine percent (9%) of Democrats think it should be someone else.

"Which Democrat Should Replace Hillary?"

Colin Powell or John McCain. Oh wait. Uh, the question is which Democrat. Sorry, my bad.

I think they already have absentee voting going on in NC.

Replacing Hillary at this point will create a real mess... what happens to the votes already cast?

Powell?

Certainly. As soon as the democrat propaganda release gets out, he’s in front. “They WILL follow orders, Mein Fervor! “

I'm not a constitutional scholar, but my understanding is that when you vote for a presidential candidate, you are really voting for an Elector pledged to that particular candidate.

If that's true, then replacing Hillary would not be a big deal. Electors pledged to Hillary would just vote for the current Dem nominee when the Electoral College meets.

Tells you exactly where that party is heading. In the future they will be nominating clones of Bernie. Hell, we may look back and regard Bernie as relatively conservative.

That’s a tough one.

Mata Hari, Tokyo Rose, Joe Stalin and Che Gueverra are all dead and Fidel Castro is even older and crazier than Hillary.

Hmmm.....

No way they replace their First Woman Nominee with a man.

Not gonna happen.

So, they are limited to Prominent Democrat Party women. Let’s look at those...

Senator Feinstein of California - Too old.

Senator Boxer of California - Retiring. To California to play in Peoria.

Former Governor and HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius - Responsible for the Obamacare Rollout Disaster

Former Governor and DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano - Nobody like Big Sis, and her current job of running the University of California into the ground is not helping.

Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota- She is a genuine star, and may be President someday, but it is too early. Besides putting a first term Senator into the White House is just crazy talk, and a recipe for disaster.

Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts - Warren is too much of a darling of the Left. Hillary would never stand for it because she is jealous of the way the true believers love Warren instead of her.

Senator Claire McCaskill of Missouri - Normally, being stupid is no bar to higher office, but Claire McCaskill falls below the line.

Senator Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire - About as exciting as white bread toast. Even in New Hampshire, people forget who she is.

California Attorney General Kamala Harris - This horrible woman will be inflicted upon us all some day, but thankfully that day has not yet arrived.

Which leaves us with one final option...

Senator Kristin Gillibrand of New York - Gillibrand is fairly attractive, moderate and inoffensive. She was the hand-picked successor to Hillary Clinton once, and there is no reason to think that Hillary would object to her being the hand-picked successor again. She would say very little, and she would beat Donald Trump like a drum.

If the Democrats have to replace Hillary, they will replace her with Kristin Gillibrand, and Gillibrand will be the next President of the United States.

Therein lies the problem. Choosing or not choosing Bernie will have the same effect, it will Bern it all down. Hillary will be dragged to the finish line even if it requires animatronics.

"If that's true, then replacing Hillary would not be a big deal. Electors pledged to Hillary would just vote for the current Dem nominee when the Electoral College meets."

But dollars-to-donuts, ONE early Hillary voter will claim that with Hillary off the ballot, she (OF COURSE it will be "she") would have voted for Jill Stein because Stein has a VJ and Crazy Bernie or Creepy Uncle Joe don't (AFAIK).

The whole mess would end up in court, of course.

However, this Charlie Foxtrot is no more than entertainment -- as long as Hillary has a pulse and is conscious for a few minutes a day, her handlers aren't going to let her quit.

Would they promote Tim Kaine to the top spot? In theory, the Vice Presidential candidate is someone who is also qualified to be President, and able to step right into the job in the event of unforeseen circumstances such as the death or resignation of the President. This, however, would infuriate Bernie’s supporters (even though he is no longer a Democrat.) If Hillary is removed from the ticket against her will, regardless of her health, many of her supporters will stay home.

These Dems are beyond dumb as sin. Don’t they know Bernie was on the Clinton payroll? How many houses has the “poor” senator purchased now with all his payoff money. Leads me to think the Dems are gonna leave Hillary to her fate and start concentrating on 2020. They’re not gonna waste money, time, and crank up the party machinery for Bernie, are they?
