I wanted to laugh at the food synthesizer / Sulu’s wedding cake scene, but the best I could manage was a smirk.

You’ll notice that the Enterprise very often violates the Prime Directive. Actually most of the time.

I had to laugh the most at the part where they consider Gary Johnston a Libertarian.... he is a Crypto-Liberal Socialist Open Borders nut bar.

More appropriately: The Prime Suggestion.

That's because - much like libertarianism itself - the Prime Directive is an unworkable ideal which simply doesn't match reality and therefore rarely works in practice.

Agreed.

Trump supports Liberty far more than Johnson could EVER dream of doing.

I miss Captain Kirk making out with female aliens. To boldly sow where no man has sown before.

Basically, whenever Kirk’s gut tells him to go ahead and violate it, in the name of some “greater good”.

My immediate family's third generation is now watching Star Trek, the original.

I hate the intrusion of political correctness into the current presentations of the original.

Why is it that each, more "liberal" generation feels entitled to change what went before, never content to simply view it as originally presented?

All of the original episodes of Star Trek introductions ended with "Where no MAN has gone before.

Personally, I don't give a rat's butt if any new generation entertainment decides to change their new versions with "where no disgusting pervert fruit has gone before..."

Just leave the real actual record of history alone. Is that too much to expect?
