White House Watch: Clinton 43%, Trump 39%, Johnson 9%, Green 2%
Rasmussen ^ | 9/8/2016 | Rasmussen

Posted on 09/08/2016 5:48:03 AM PDT by usafa92

The seesaw battle between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump finds the Democratic nominee back in the lead.

The latest Rasmussen Reports weekly White House Watch national telephone and online survey shows Clinton with 43% support to Donald Trump’s 39%. Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson gets nine percent (9%) of the vote, and Green Party candidate Jill Stein earns two percent (2%). Another two percent (2%) like some other candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Last week, Trump edged ahead of Clinton 40% to 39%. It was the first time he had been in the lead since mid-July. The latest finding is Clinton’s best showing in a month, but the race remains a close one, within or just outside our survey’s +/- 3 margin of error for months.

Clinton earns 78% support among Democratic voters, while 75% of Republicans favor Trump. The two are basically tied among voters not affiliated with either major party, a group Trump has led in for the past several weeks.

Johnson has the support of eight percent (8%) of Republicans, seven percent (7%) of Democrats and 13% of unaffiliateds. Green has no statistical support among GOP voters but wins the backing of one percent (1%) of Democrats and four percent (4%) of unaffiliated voters.

Not sure what is up with these polls. Last few days have seen a shift back to Clinton; PPD, LA Times, now Rasmussen. Who knows? Could be the Labor Day weekend effect, could be the media minions getting back in line or it could be real. At any rate, she's still at only 43% but it's ridiculous that these polls consistently swing 5 or more points in a week. We'll see what's what as time goes on.

Could be with only a current response rate of 3% that polling in the internet age is worthless except as a cheap means for the MSM to drive a narrative and send a signal to the campaigns to spend more money on advertising.

If Johnson even gets 3% on election day I’ll be stunned.

Could be like I did yesterday. Got a poll call from a “student” at UTEP, getting college credit. Told him I was a democrat and voting for Trump.

The polls will continue to go back and forth until election day. Regardless of the polls, good or bad, as another Freeper said a few weeks ago, we should play this as though we are down by a touchdown with 5 minutes left in the game.

At this point they’re probably polling 200 likely Democrat voters and no Republicans or independents. That’s why the results still show Hillary leading.

There is no reason for the big shift in momentum toward Hillary over the past week. She had a terrible week and at the same time Trump was "presidential" and had a great week. These polls are meant to discourage Trump supporters and bolster the fading support of Hillary.

I know who I'm voting for and nothing is going to change my mind. None of us have any control of these polls other than to get out and vote and prove them bogus.

“If Johnson even gets 3% on election day I’ll be stunned.”

I won’t be stunned only because many who are liberal but cannot stand Hillary will go that route before they vote for Trump.

The polls will continue to show a close race, with Hillary in the lead, up until election day. Whether true or not.

This is required so that, when they steal the election through voter fraud and ballot-stuffing, they will have the polls to back up the “results.”

Our country is dead. The outcome is already decided.

Would not be surprised if they were changed to give Hillary the lead.

My guess is Johnson might get a larger millennial vote than expected. Which hurts Hitlery.

Still, it is discouraging such a liberal fascist is leading in this poll.
