Article makes too much sense.
It will be dismissed by those who need to read it and understand it the most.

Excellent piece. I bet you would enjoy the historical drama
Rome (TV series)
The first season depicts Julius Caesar's civil war of 49 BC against the traditionalist conservative faction in the Roman Senate (the Optimates), his rise to dictatorship over Rome, and his fall, spanning the time from the end of his Gallic Wars (52 BC or 701 ab urbe condita) until his assassination on 15 March 44 BC (the infamous Ides of March). Against the backdrop of these cataclysmic events, we also see the early years of the young Octavian, who is destined to become Augustus, the first Emperor of Rome.

The Roman economy was based on plunder.
Once they stopped conquering they ran out of gold and slaves and only had land to use to pay their armies that were increasingly composed of foreigners.
Still it lasted 500 years in the west and 1500 in the east.
And the people living under their lash weren’t sad to see them go.
To: Jim Robinson
The Western half of the Roman Empire suffered rapid depopulation and collapse by the end of the fifth century.
The Eastern half survived because it was more populated, had sufficient resources on hand to sustain itself and the imperial bureaucracy assured the life and safety of the citizens.
Civilizations can decline and die. Both Oswald Spengler and Arnold Toynbee wrote extensively about the subject.
Today, the West is in decline. What might replace it cannot yet be foreseen.

When Valerian was appointed censor because Rome had fallen morally and ethically...that was the turning point for Rome (circa 252-3 AD). The decline of values and morals in Rome is the reason Decius pushed Valerian to become Censor of Rome (the Senate actually selected him).
Rome was already rotting from within.
This is what happens to timbers and nations. They rot from within.
The Christian nation (the remnant within nations), scattered though it is among the "nations" of the world, will not rot.
It is founded on solid rock...which cannot rot.

Christ and His followers will replace it.
You can see its courage in our armed forces, most of whom come from small towns and red cities.
Have courage. Victory is on our side.
Christ is our salvation. He is the Jewish Messiah.
And we who follow Him are Jews (either by heritage or adoption).

"At FreedomFest, Matt Kibbe, president of FreedomWorks, also argued that America could soon collapse like Rome did. 'The parallels are quite ominous - the debt, the expansionist foreign policy, the arrogance of executive power taking over our country,' says Kibbe. 'But I do think we have a chance to...alert people to the danger in imperial Washington and try to fight it...'The arrogance of executive power.....(Trump saw this coming) years ago...he has not changed his stance very much.... Bill Federer gives a clear reason for a man like Donald Trump to step in.....
Thanks Jim for posting this.....read and now printed out, adult beverage in hand 'tis the evenings read.
