America cannot continue to be the dumping ground for all the world’s problems, was what the Republican candidate for president implied in his address in Phoenix, Ariz., last night. The truth is, the central issue is not the needs of the 11 million illegal immigrants or however many there may be … but whatever the number, that's never really been the central issue. It will never be a central issue. It doesn't matter from that standpoint. Anyone who tells you that the core issue is the needs of those living here illegally has simply spent too much time in Washington.

Immigration must server the interests of the Republic and its Citizens. The interests of the immigrant are irrelevant.

...this sums it up quite nicely. It’s simple common sense human nature to protect one’s own. Everything liberals say and do goes against common sense and human nature.

It’s so in many countries, including Mexico especially.
Until/unless the economy improves and until/unless the WOT is resolved.... no sane, rational person can object to a total moratorium on immigration. It’s JUST common sense.
And when you consider how irresponsible and casual this country has been to date, enforcing EXISTING immigration policies... what the f^%k difference does it make to REFORM immigration policies that likely will be enforced with the SAME lack of uniformity and rigor, anyway?

When immigration serves our interest, it serves the immigrants interest as well. We gave them a place to start....Canals, railroads, farms, industry....we grew to greatest because people worked their butts off and they had a sense of morality.
