A federal jury convicted I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby yesterday of lying about his role in the leak of an undercover CIA officer's identity, culminating a four-year legal saga that transfixed official Washington and revealed the inner workings of the White House and the media.

After 10 days of deliberations, the 11 jurors found Vice President Cheney's former chief of staff guilty of four felony counts of making false statements to the FBI, lying to a grand jury and obstructing a probe into the leak of Valerie Plame's identity. The jury acquitted him of one count of lying to the FBI about his conversation with a Time magazine reporter. Libby is the highest-ranking White House official to be convicted of a felony since the Iran-contra scandal nearly two decades ago.

Yes, in addition to lying to the FBI, Clinton also violated preservation of records law, mishandled classified documents, and repeatedly violated the FOIA.

Just as I figured. If anyone in politics is found guilty of anything you know he/she is a Republican.

An astonishing miscarriage of justice. And today a real criminal might be elected president?

Libby’s mistake was that he wasn’t a Democrat.

An astonishing miscarriage of justice.

The determination of "lying" was based on his testimony not being in agreement with a single member of the press.

The kangaroo court was convened because he had supposedly "outed" Valerie Plame. However, her role at the CIA was not as an undercover agent. It was established that her husband had disclosed her employment previously at a dinner party.

Furthermore, after the fact, they determined that the "leak" they were trying to pin on Libby had come from another party who they never indicted.

This country elected one in 2008, and re-elected him in 2012, so “might” isn’t the issue. Precedence has been set.

Add lying, under oath, to Congress.
