Paramedics are treating three victims after an apparent crossbow attack near the Mason Road and Eglinton Avenue area of Scarborough Thursday afternoon.

How on earth do you accidentally kill three people with a crossbow? I don’t think it can be done.

Blame it on George Stevens of Huntsville, Arkansas.

Crossbows used to be a banned item in the USA for hunting ranking up with machine guns and silencers back before the 1960s, till Stevens popularized them. He got a change in Game and Fish rules for crossbow hunting, then a special crossbow season.

Now crossbows are so common no one remembers when they were not allowed. Crossbows are now made to look just like those evil A-s-s-s-ault Rifles! Stevens made one of the first with a pistol grip back in the early 1960s. I believe it was published in BOW AND ARROW magazine from that time.
