I created the burkini to give women freedom, not to take it away
UK Guardian ^ | August 24, 2016 | Aheda Zanetti

When I invented the burkini in early 2004, it was to give women freedom, not to take it away. My niece wanted to play netball but it was a bit of a struggle to get her in the team – she was wearing a hijab. My sister had to fight for her daughter to play, had to debate the issue and ask, why is this girl prevented from playing netball because of her modesty?

I hate hijabs, burkhas and burkini and how going out see more and more of those oppressive garments. My libertarian side let them wear it but I don't have to like seeing these signs of oppression in a Western Country. The Victorians wore modest garments incl swimwear and they were much nicer and feminine than these glorified garbage bags.

There’s modesty and then there is stupidity and hatred. And all of those frightening get-ups should be banned.

If they get into trouble male lifeguards cant rescue them. They would be an infidel male not related to them not wearing much clothing. So they drown and the family will be happy they died with honor intact.

My libertarian side feels that the bastards who demand women dress in bags on pain of punishment and death should be hunted down and killed like the animals they are.

“why is this girl prevented from playing netball because of her modesty?”

It’s not because of her modesty. It’s probably because she puts her religion above doing what is necessary to be competitive at a sport.

Every time I see those Muslim women, I think, “there is a person who hates me, hates my country, wants to take it over and would someday dance at my death.” It is a symbol that they are not, and will never be, American.

"...why is this girl prevented from playing netball because of her modesty?..."

Ha!

It has NOTHING to do with modesty. It has everything to do with adhering to a homicidal death cult that wants to behead me and cut off my daughters' clitoris.

For reals: Death to those who use taqqiya to advance their murderous agenda.

100 degrees and you see women wear black and are covered up, and then think it is western women who are manipulated.
Meanwhile the men walk around in shorts and tank tops while eyeing western women up.

Um, freedom is the choice to wear what you want to wear, NOT to wear a bag because of the misogyny of the men/ religion in your country. Tsk tsk.

why is this girl prevented from playing netball because of her modesty?

Because sports require agility and complete range of motion - which is very difficult when you have a blanket on your head - and you would be a detriment to the team.

Now go away.

I find them amusing and idiotic and self-defeating but I mostly don’t care....as long as they don’t try to impose their “standard” on us. when they start acting up and demanding that our women conform to their idiocy and evict us males altogether then I say screw you!

So be a team player take OFF the hijab. There is no "I" in team.

My biggest question has always been: For whom is a woman veiling?

Women veil their heads in The Temple, before the Torah before Christ, and even today in The Temple before the Him in Most Holy Body and Blood. It is ALL for Him.

Christian religious women, who make a life, FULL TIME decision to veil all the time -- show their constant obedience for GOD.

In this way, covering one's head as a woman is for true modesty as a woman and out of respect for the life-bearer that GOD has made EVERY woman is achingly beautiful.

Extreme veiling, or in some cases, a woman who covers up EVERYTHING to a point that she is not recognizable as a human person any more, thus--in essence--becoming property for a MAN or MEN ...

....

I do not believe our loving, living, Triune God wants this scenario AT ALL for ANY of His children.
