Falwell Hails Trump as the 'Churchillian' Leader the United States Needs
Newsmax ^ | August 20, 2016 | Sandy Fitzgerald

Donald Trump is the "Churchillian" leader the United States needs, and is the clear choice in a "historic" presidential race that does not pit an establishment Republican against a liberal Democrat, Jerry Falwell Jr., one of Donald Trump's early presidential race endorsers writes in an opinion piece for [a newspaper].

"We are at a crossroads where our first priority must be saving our nation," writes Falwell, the president of Liberty University. "We need a leader with qualities that resemble those of Winston Churchill, and I believe that leader is Donald Trump. As Churchill did, Trump possesses the resolve to put his country first and to never give up in a world that is increasingly hostile to our values."

President Barack Obama and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, his one-term secretary of State, remind Falwell of another historical character: Neville Chamberlain, the British Conservative prime minister who is is best known for signing the Munich Agreement in 1938, relinquishing a region of Czechoslovakia to Adolf Hitler's Nazi regime.

And, he writes, the nation's $150 billion nuclear deal with Iran will clear the way for that country, "the leading state sponsor of terrorism in the world and a nation committed to the destruction of Israel," it to become a nuclear power and reminds him of Chamberlain's deal . . ..

* * *

Falwell warns in his article there will be "dire consequences" if Americans don't unite between Trump and his running mate, Indiana Gov Mike Pence.

"If Clinton appoints the next few Supreme Court justices, not only will the Second Amendment right to bear arms be effectively lost, but also activist judges will rewrite our Constitution in ways that would make it unrecognizable to our founders," said Falwell.

I am never really comfortable with clerics endorsing political candidates

but I certainly do agree with Rev. Falwell, and maybe there are extreme times (like this, imho) when everybody, including clerics, have a duty to speak out?

Hilliary would be a total disaster for us all

Falwell is not clergy. He is the President of Liberty University.

Falwell is one of the few ‘big name’ Christian leaders I trust. Dobson and the focus on the family org is another one. Many of the other big name, push the ‘prosperity’ message...it sure works for them...15 wealthiest ministeres...

Trump is taking on both parties, the Ministry of Propaganda, the PC Police and every left wing organization George Soros can spend money on.

Oh, and the Cheap Labor Express, too.

Maybe Falwell isn’t too far off in his thinking......

OOPS! Yes, of course this is Jerry Falwell, JUNIOR. I sometimes forget the distinction in these religious dynasty type families, ha!
Jerry, Jr. is indeed head of the university his Dad founded (Liberty U) ... and while he did take a religion degree...so there’s yet another source of my confusion, ha, he went on to ...shudder!.....alas!!!!!!.....may the good Lord help us all...become a lawyer.

nolo commento. ha!
oh yes, his brother is pastor at his daddy’s baptist church, so .... there’s still no shortage of religious activity in the Falwell family.

I stand corrected, thanks!

yes I agree. The socalled “prosperity gospel” often looks like a sacrilege to me, and I do not listen to those preachers

yes I agree. The socalled “prosperity gospel” often looks like a sacrilege to me, and I do not listen to those preachers. Jesus walked or rode an ass (or two, if you go with some people’s reading of the Mattatean rendition, ha!)..... but try as I might, I’ve so far never found anywhere in the Christian scriptures where Jesus rode in a Mercedes Benz (or two), ha! And, certainly not in a Lear Jet!

Say what you may about JERRY FALWELL, if Americans would have heeded the warnings in “LISTEN AMERICA!” in 1981, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

JERRY FALWELL provided a conservative blueprint for America’s moral rebirth. The book should be read by every Christian activist.

JERRY FALWELL will go down in history as a great Patriot.

Don’t forget this one:

‘How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.’

Or this one:

‘The Hun is always either at your throat or at your feet’.

Thx to Trump and the way he has flushed out the wealthy elites, I understand why Jesus said it is difficult for the wealthy to get into heaven. The wealthier they get, the less ethics they seem to have, the less concern they have for the people in the society and definitely the less desire they have for God. He cramps their style and their money can supply anything they need.

They are placing a big bet, that when this life ends either He welcomes them in or else their is no hereafter. The Bible is very clear, no beating around the push what it takes to enter Heaven.

Actually, Winnie lied. If you know about his drinking habits, it was quite unlikely that he was, in fact, sober in the morning.

You are so right. Jerry Falwell WAS a great American Patriot in the tradition of those preachers around the time of the American Revolution. He was an inspiration every time I heard him speak. I got to hear him in person once and will never forget it. What a champion of Jesus Christ and of America’s founding principles!
