I trust attachments in strange emails that have been leaked about as much as I trust attachments in strange emails I receive myself, which is not at all.

I have three different virus protectors on my computer, and mal ware, and everything else, not one wikileak that I have opened and read has set anything off...

So it must be just for the government computers and making it easier for them to hack into...

Are you opening attachments (like pdf or docx files), or just reading the main body of the emails (which, I believe, they only present in plain text mode and which is safe)?

Every time I get a e-mail titled “Invoice” even though I didn’t order anything, or “your report” even though I’m not expecting a report, I always open the attachment just in case it’s something important. /s

I wouldn’t call that a Mac virus:

“... anyone who downloaded the Transmission installer between 11 a.m. PT on March 4 and 7 p.m. PT on March 5 may be at risk...”

“Apple has taken steps to make it impossible to install the affected app. Transmission’s developers have issued an update to address the issue as well.

The discovery is particularly noteworthy because Apple’s desktop operating system isn’t usually susceptible to such attacks. The only previously reported Mac ransomware dates back to 2014, but Palo Alto Networks says it was “incomplete” at the time of discovery.”
