This election is being rigged from within... dems and the media... these polls are part of the plan...

I don’t believe a single one of these polls.. we are being lied to over and over... even the republican party would take Trump out if they could... polls or otherwise...

I’d have to see this result duplicated for me to believe it. I’ve been working in North Carolina and I just don’t see it going to Hillary. Obama had an edge with his race but Trump is doing surprisingly well with African Americans but every rally opens with Mark Burns, Diamond and Silk etc. Trump would do well to run some ads with minorities endorsing him to help reset some of the negatives that are being driven up with ads for Hillary. The state of the rae at the end of September will cause me more worry if the Trump campaign has not upped its ground game and ad game.

I don’t know about other folks but in my area of Central Virginia and up and down the I95 corridor I’m seeing very little political paraphernalia. Trump has an advantage based on bumper stickers but I’ve seen so very few signs. There’s no Hillary signs in yards that I know have been Democrat in the past and the same can be said for Republicans. I’m going to start in September door knocking my precinct in Central VA so I’m going to have better ability to judge my microcosm which went for Romney with 52% in 2012 and 55% for McCain in 2008. If Trump is to win Virginia he has to win Chesterfield County.

Of course, there will be the inevitable posts by those who say ‘I remember the same refusal to believe the polls when Obama won’ etc., but IMHO nothing matters except the final vote count, and it has always been difficult to know whether the polls reflect the vote, or influence and direct the vote. I would say it's probably a bit of both, depending on the poll.

That said, this is an election like no other in my lifetime. The MSM is so in the tank for Hillary, and so anti-Trump that they actually have IMHO diminished their ability to influence the election (because they are so transparent that fewer people are taking them seriously as a valid source of news and discourse). All of this rhetoric has also, IMHO, made people afraid or reticent to admit they are voting for Trump - and this has a very big effect on the accuracy of any predictions.

In past elections, their own party didn’t go after them like they are after Trump. This is unbelievable attacks on one man, Trump. I go way back and there has not been anything like this before. Trump has only his voters on his side of all this. I did not know the republican party was so in the tank with the democrats and even behind the saddest most evil man who ever sat in that office, obama... and against Trump. I knew they were across the aisle friendly, but to turn on the people and side with hillary for president... is beyond the pale. . beyond what a 2 party system is supposed to protect the rights of the people... they are all turncoats and in it for their own power and financial gain... the founding fathers neglected to remember the depravity of man and did not set in term limits for congress!

You think Todd Young is a RINO and want Bayh to retake that Senate seat?

That would probably not be happening if Trump was leading in the polls despite what they think of him. And Trump decided he didn’t want to be leading in the polls by allowing Hillary and her allies to run ads heavily for months on end without response...leading to all of this panic among the ranks. With all of Hillary’s scandals, having a higher favorability rating that her would have been very easy - but Trump decided to just give her a huge advantage.

Returning long-time FReeper here. Cannot sit this election out because far too much is at stake. A Clinton win would be a monumental disaster. (Moved from CA to NC last year for work, but still don't have a feel for political trends here.)

I want Trump to win so much it almost hurts, but worry that you are right. I know numerous FReepers post that they think Trump is waiting until after Labor Day to launch his TV ads, but the massive months-long combined assault by Clinton ads and the media has to be countered. Remember how most conservatives were so frustrated that George W. Bush never countered his enemies and the lies told about him? I feel the same way now about Trump.

Nevetheless, the republican party has not wanted to get behind Trump for other reasons... that is inexcusable. they are doing damage at this point. I will agree Trump either isn’t listening to his team or his team is as thick headed as Trump seems to be at this point. This is an easy election to win and it’s scaring the heck out of me for him to carry on the way he is. All he has to do is to list, over and over, hillary’s corruption and what she plans to do if elected. With her tax plans, a person making $199,000 a year will take home $100,000. That is a simple and easy item for the undecided to think about.. if they knew it. Trump has been general in his speeches... he needs to get specific and stay on things that matter to the voters. I can’t hear all of his speeches, and I can’t stand to watch the news, so I may be missing what they are doing this past week. Time is getting short and the media is feeding lies... Trump, get to the meat of what a hillary looks like in reality. If they want him to show his taxes, tell hillary to show the clinton foundation records.... or her health records.

And don’t argue with the reporters or the other side... don’t take a defensive mode.. it gives them room to go further with the dumb questions ... turn it back around to them.. to hillary.. attack and in every question they ask, point to a hillary fact and hillary lie....the money she has pocketed from selling this country out..

This registered voter poll was so ludicrous that when I saw the numbers, I nearly did a spit-take it was so funny.

Rally crowd sizes mean absolutely nothing. Folks were turning a blind eye to every poll during McLame/Palin and Romney/Ryan...the same was being said over and over “rigged” “biased” “over sampling” blah blah blah...

Either we are blind to the reality that the gibmedats culture has taken over or short on history and common sense. Poll after poll after poll has been showing the same result now for months and the few taken by the conservative poll takers well we all cheerlead as if that’s the only one that is “true and accurate”

When our cantidate refuses to switch campaign modes that worked in the primary and transition to new strategies in the general well this is what can be expected. I’ve been sayin for more than a month to start pumping out tv commercials yet not a single one. I’m in Ohio a crucially key battleground state and see commercials daily of hildebeast...Trump? Are you there? Are you running? Not a single ad to be found.

I think this is going to sting very harshly when reality sets in and he realizes it’s too late. His campaign management team is doing him a disservice. When you select a fossil such as Manafort who advised Ford, Reagan, GHWB and Dole what do you expect? The man has been entrenched for years within the establishment. Since the convention Trump has been in full reaction mode whereas before he was completely offense. Yes he has the MSM to fight as well however he did during the primaries as well. The difference is he isn’t planting his feet firm with commercials of media bias along with Clinton corruption. I’m preparing for a disappointment on election night.

Rally crowd sizes mean absolutely nothing.

Absolute nonsense. It's the push polls that mean absolutely nothing.

0bama drew huge crowds in '08 and he was an incumbent in 2012.

Donald Trump, by any objective measure, has a yuuuge advantage in voter enthusiasm, and that will carry him to victory.

These polls have only ONE purpose. To demoralize Trump voters. And you're reflecting the fact that they are being at least partially effective.

Crowd sizes sure as heck meant meant a lot in '08.

Enough with the Tokyo Rose routine.

How many debates have there been?

ZERO How much has Trump spent on television ads?

ZERO

Get a grip. Polls can and will undergo massive movement between now and November 8.

Vote Trump!

Are you sure about the size of crowds at rallies means nothing? Those small crowds are mot helping Hillary at all. Plus folks do want to work and not collect government help.

Here is my concern, given all that has been piled onto Hitlery you’d think this would be a landslide of epic proportions. I firmly believe far too many around here are making the mistake from the past 2 elections placing no credence into ANY of the polls. If polls have taught us anything the last 2 elections they’ve been fairly accurate in predicting the winner. This election is no different. While many discounted the last 2 election cycle polls they showed to be spot on in citing who the winner would be.

I do believe they are accurate showing Trump is truly in trouble. I just beg the man to start his ad campaign. I know some state 3 months is a long time yet if that were the case Hillary would long have been a goner. I won’t dismiss these polls outright until it’s obvious Trump carries momentum. His continual being on defense tells me there are serious issues in his campaign when offense against this wench is so easy

Got to remember that those two past elections you had GOPe folks running and losing. 2016 is whole different ball game and animal.

As I say, this August, people are still on vacation, the summer olympics is going on, and folks are just not paying any attention to politics.

Welcome back. I did the same - returned to FR after being out of the loop for a number of years. As you say, there is too much at stake in this election to stay on the sidelines.

We had a fantastic 2012 election year = taking control of the NC Legislature and the Governorship for the first time in forever, I believe. All were responses to a perceived disaster by Obama, I think. The legislature and governor have done okay except they got bogged down in minimalist issues - like the transgender bathroom HB2 issue. (I realize many don’t think that’s a minor issue - but compared to others, I believe it is). It’s hard to decide all the positives that have come from having Repubs control the Legislature and the Governorship. We did get a slight tax decrease - and our indebtedness has improved. Our employment has gone up slightly. All this to say, we don’t have the funds to tout all the good things that have come by using paid ads...and the news media in NC is overwhelmingly liberal so they will never tell the truth about the good things Repubs have done.
