I am now a free lance machinist that does private precision work for hire. Just a few simple questions, cash, and you will be on your way in no time.

I see some gunsmiths who can afford to pay this fee immediately setting up shop and manufacturing some nice serviceable weapons. “Hey, I paid my manufacturer’s fee!”

We, are on our own. Nobody gives a damn about us but us. But, if we don’t care, why should anyone else? It looks like at some point, we would say enmass that enough is enough.

Actually it goes back to the 1942 ruling by the Supreme Court Wickard v. Filburn in which the court ruled that a farmer growing wheat on his own farm to feed his own livestock was engaging in interstate commerce because his activity "exerts a substantial economic effect on interstate commerce." Under this ruling everything is interstate commerce. This is what has given the federal government license to control all aspects of our lives. Such a ruling absurd on its face and it is time to return honesty to the meaning of the Constitution.

Easy for you to say. My gunsmith risks his business if he were to do so. This regulation needs stay or repeal.

Raich actually expanded Wickard. See post by Cboldt summarizing the Stewart case =>

_____________________________________________________________________

-- Lopez was cited in United States v. Stewart, where the 9th circuit held that homemade machine-guns did not fall under jurisdiction of the Federal government because they were not involved in interstate commerce. --

SCOTUS directed the 9th Circuit to reconsider Stewart and be guided in that reconsideration by Raich. The result:

"We therefore hold that Congress had a rational basis for concluding that in the aggregate, possession of homemade machineguns could substantially affect interstate commerce in machineguns."

I sure like how our Repugnant Congress is standing up and resisting this spawn of Evil to protect our rights and our traditions.

Oh, wait. Our Repugnant Congress has done nothing of the sort!

Never mind.

Not a bill of attainder, but buried deep as a part of administrative laws and rules IMO. This is how the gun-grabbers operate, using administrative law they can circumvent Congress and ignore “shall not be infringed” while still proclaiming with a straight face “We’re not going to take your guns away!” No they’ll just make it so administratively burdensome, expensive and frustrating to own one that most people won’t even pursue it.

The big-government/big-corporate criminal-complex wants to eliminate all small businesses. They don’t like the competition. They want you to buy a new one rather than repair the old one.

I have a CNC machine shop. Watch out for ATF stings. They sent some chumps to all the shops in this region to finish 80% lowers. I flatly refused. But a week or two later two ATF goons came to my shop demanding to take a tour because they “heard” I was making guns.

This is all part of Obama’s “under the radar” efforts at gun control.

I don’t know of any Plumbers that manufacture Toilets.

They only install them and fix them.
