Have we gone completely beyond the point of asking by what authority does the federal government impose wage rates on private business?

The raised MW is doing what it was designed to do which is to put more people on the dole and locking in their votes for Democrats. Raising the MW cost hem their jobs and now they are unemployed but they blame it on the greedy employers, not the magnanimous politicians. The pols were trying to help them and the greedy businessmen just want to keep them poor.

That is up to the employee. If he thinks his salary is worth the 80 hours a week he will stay. If not, he will leave.

It certainly doesn’t help matters that a fair few of the people pushing for minimum wage increases are the most unproductive and stupid as a general rule. Min-wage workers have turnover like nuts at most businesses because they are most likely to have lousy personal habits that infringe on work, show up late or not at all, have to be nagged/threatened to be productive and take ten times as long to learn something that a trained monkey could be taught to do.

It wasn’t the CEO or middle managers who were constantly sacked for theft had the law come looking for them at work all the time, let me tell you!
