Named for President Andrew Jackson, it is one of two Chicago Park District parks with the name Jackson, the other being Mahalia Jackson Park in the community area of Auburn Gresham on the far southwest side of Chicago.

Will there be a special TOTUS wing?
Cool, now Obama can spend another hundred million on a “library” that’ll do no more for education in Chicago than the Annenburg Challenge did locally under his leadership!
The South Side has plenty of places where you cannot afford a house. If you’ve never been to Chicago, don’t make it so obvious.
First you need to read or have a desire to, second you need a gun to make your way there and third if there aint no free stuff being given out it will be empty most the time. The Obama library...........The house of lies and deseption
It is a good reason to never go there.
I could, but there are far better places to live, in Chicago than the South Side and I DID! ;^)
The Near North has has wonderful restaurants, The Mag Mile...for shopping, and then there is Grant Park, the zoo, the Historical Society, and many other places of interest.
Bad, bad Leroy Brown lived there.
No thanks. I lived there many years ago. I don’t care to return to LIB insanity.
Spent the first 20 years of my life on the south side. Still have relaivtes that moved to the north side. I would never take Lake Shore Drive to go downtown again. Looks like a vacant war zone in most places. Goes right through Jackson Park. I predict vey few visitors of any race.

Worked at the University of Chicago, live in the western suburbs.
Usually, get on the Ryan and sit, but in cold weather it was considered OK(?) to head west for 294...
It was an adventurous car pool!
I would not do that again.
I worked at U of C Hospitals, lived in Hyde Park, before that lived at 111th and M (East Side). Would drive up Lake Shore Drive every day to get to work.
