The documents also show that top Dems were giving CNN the questions to ask them in on the air interview. Politico was giving its stories to the DNC in advance for approval before publishing them.
I have watched both seasons of House of Cards. In that drama, the newsies routinely ask the White House and various others for comment or to give heads up and then comment on a story.
