Merkel basically fast tracked what was a slow death policy of other Europe nations. France under de Gaulle, under the need to play against the Anglo powers, made agreements with Arab nations that resulted in steady migration from their nations to France. In Denmark, at the time, I think the 80s when Hirsi Ali came over, didn't notice that many of its refugees were totally unthankful to their host country and wanting to bring Sharia with them.

Those elitist attitudes resulted in the huge Muslim minorities we now have. Merkel is intent on pulling a France in 1/20th of the time.

I understand why foreign policy is always on the bottom of the list of issues for voters. It doesn’t affect their ability to put food on tables. But this is serious stuff. The whole lesson of 911 is that we didn’t see the warning signs decades before. We have our Pokemon Go, the newest episodes of Game of Thrones, and many but not all of us a good job, so who cares if Allah comes marching in 30 years from now.

I think she’s more of a softball/LPGA kind of “chick”.

Actually, very often it does, but this is also often not well explained.
