Paul Ryan: Intelligence community should refuse to brief Hillary Clinton
The Washington Times ^ | July 5, 2016 | Stephen Dinan

Posted on 07/18/2016 9:44:53 AM PDT by yoe

Voters tend to think House Speaker Paul Ryan is just making a political move with his call to (block presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton) from receiving intelligence briefings following the FBI's conclusion that she was “extremely careless” with classified information during her time as secretary of State. But voters trust her Republican rival Donald Trump slightly more when it comes to handling the nation's secrets.

Hark! Someone feels the need to make conservative sounding noises.

I wonder why?

Go Nehlen!

If they are forced to brief her, I hope they at least humiliate her...with a kindergarten level course in the definitions of ‘secret’, etc, and a line by line explanation of a sworn statement they make her sign. Draw it out for hours.

No, there is nothing conservative about that. The Intelligence community should do exactly as the executive branch tells them, and as the law says, or resign.

The Intelligence community is the shadow government. But they should not refuse to obey orders unless they are going to finally go open about actually setting national policy.

Maybe they could send their briefings to her by email instead.

“How does she still have a security clearance???”

The same way Obama does. He could never qualify for one with his long term terrorist friends, his questionable foreign travel, long term drug use, and until recently his homosexuality would have stopped him.

But, getting elected is an end run around that. The intelligence community refusing to give information to an elected official is more dangerous than anything else. If they hold themselves as above the executive branch, then we are an intel community dictatorship and little else.
They are not some “superguardians” of the Republic.

The president doesn’t need a security clearance. He gets to decide who does.

Bill Clinton overhauled the system.

And if Ryan believes this, then the pussy needs to pass a law to that effect, or pressure Obama to deny her briefings.

But does anyone else think its childish for a Speaker of the House to say the intelligence community should just refuse? What happens when they decide Trump isn’t worthy of knowing certain things?

The idiot GOP keeps doing this, passing laws and programs and never dreaming the other side will one day be in power. DHS, NSA domestic spying, PATRIOT, all have been turned hard when Obama was given a turnkey security state to play with.

Ryan is on a fools errand

IF she is elected she must be briefed

Besides Huma can give her all the inside scoop

Because she is the nominee

If she becomes president she automatically gets one

“The president doesn’t need a security clearance. He gets to decide who does.”

As he should. I cannot see an argument that the president should be forced to submit to CIA or Military commanders. That whole commander in chief thing. To argue otherwise is to argue that he really isn’t the commander in chief or chief executive.

If we elect an Ahole like Obama, there are constitutional remedies. The DOD and Intel world setting their own rules isn’t one of them.

“More Kabuki Theater from Lyn’ Ryan.”

Thirteen days ago, anyway.

Wonder if it’s setting the tone for an “attack” Hitlery rather than an “endorse” Trump speech tomorrow.

Will be interesting to see if PRyno can bring himself to use the word “endorse”.

Anyone revealing classified information of any nature to Hillary Clinton should be prosecuted for, what was the expression? “Reckless mishandling” of classified materials?

Because that’s what showing them to her would be.

clinton doesn’t need to be present at intel briefings or even to have a security clearance to accomplish her main goal as president: Sell enough information to become a billionaire at least once over. All she needs is a flunky or two to act as her proxy and feed the info to the winning bidder.
