CLEVELAND COUNTY, NC (WBTV) -
The sheriff of Cleveland County says his deputies were taunted by employees and served tampered food at a fast food restaurant while taking a lunch break in their uniforms.
Sheriff Alan Norman confirmed the accusations to WBTV after a post was made online by the wife of a deputy.
"As they walked up to place their orders, the boys in the back cooking the food started yelling at them and calling them names," she wrote about her husband's trip to the Zaxby's restaurant in Shelby.
She said her husband and his partner, who were both on duty and in their uniform, ignored the insults and continued ordering.
"Then, as they sat down to eat their food, my husband realized [they] had put the hottest sauce possible on [his] wings - to the point where his food wasn't even fit to eat," she continued.

Some peeps just don’t make the connections that the ‘rat Politicians that they elect and elect are actually in charge of the Police. They are attacking the wrong people.
If they’ll tamper with Police officer’s food they’ll tamper with yours also so stay away from the place

I think it’s amazing that most of these people who attack the police will vote Democrat, who will push for legislation to hire more police who will then continue the endless cycle. Stupid people
Many years ago there was a story in the Chicago Trib about someone who blew there nose on a cops hamburger sandwich and served it to him. The officer open the sandwich to put something on it and found what had happened. He arrested the offender for assaulting a police officer.
Someone needs to be fired at Zaxby’s

The moment I noticed they did that, I would have “accidentally” dropped the food and my beverage on the floor, and “inadvertently” stepped in it and tracked it all around the restaurant on my way out, never to return.
I try to avoid most places.
My favorite is a Greek/Italian place that’s a mom and pop that’s been around for decades. Some of the best flounder and pizza around the area to me.
Hope something happens at the restaurant requiring the police and there’s no response.
Zaxby’s started out pretty nice, well run, good food so long as you like chicken. They’re all pretty new here in NC. But, beginning a few years ago, some locations started slipping. Food quality, cleanliness, quality of employees. I’ve stopped eating at the one closest to me because of this. The location close to my mom is still good. Bad management, poor hiring practices would be my guess.
Shoot I wish I had choices like that, most time I brown bag it, take an occasional sushi run.
You are absolutely right. If go into an establishment and the order taker has hostility in her eye, attitude or voice, walk out, do not go back. Deprive them of your hard earned.

No, you can’t.
I don’t go there and prefer Chic-fil A, now saying that there is only Chic-fil,-a I ever get food from. If I have to get lunch at work etc then I pack my own lunch and that way I know the food is good, and clean.
A lot of cops will only eat somewhere where they either know the owner/chef personally or can watch their food being prepared.
And that isn’t a new phenomena.
