About 100 people protesting late Saturday and early Sunday in a sometimes violent response to the police killing of Philando Castile were arrested, either during an hourslong human blockade of Interstate 94 in St. Paul or during a follow-up gathering elsewhere in the city, authorities said.
The violence perpetrated by some of the protesters against the police prompted denouncement in the strongest terms by St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman and Police Chief Todd Axtell, who called the pelting of officers with rocks, bottles and other items a disgrace.
Axtell said 21 officers from all law enforcement agencies on the scene were injured in the mayhem. The State Patrol said six of the 21 were troopers who suffered minor injuries from what the protesters were throwing.

There were over 100 people arrested. Mobs should be dealt with in the manner of Napoleon - with a whiff of grapeshot. Hurling potentially lethal projectiles warrants a lethal response. But the police know that the politicians and many of the senior officers would sell them down the river if they actually used the necessary force to defend themselves. I think you are going to see mass retirements and a significant drop in recruitment numbers in urban police forces across America. Young people are starting to realize that are signing up to a job where a target has been placed on your back by the President and where the presumption of innocence no longer applies.
Wow. I thought cops carried nightsticks, mace, and tazers. Taze the bad guys and then beat the crap outta them.
I watched the video from the protest last night and the troopers were called in from all over Minnesota to remove the BLM people.
They arrived and deployed with gas masks but weren’t as protected as the local police in terms of body armor, vests etc.
They were much more vulnerable to injury as they appeared to me. Many of them wore yellow vests you might see construction workers wearing on the highway.
Why do municipalities continue to give BLM permits to engage in domestic terrorism?
Sorry Chief, the protesters were already criminals and Soros paid foreign agents. It's time you faced the facts.
Old alliances are blurring.
Barack is now on a “don’t talk or act stupidly” roll towards the trouble makers he had been fomenting.
The Philando Castile controversy has raised interest in the 2nd Amendment booster crowd.
“With man it is impossible. With God all things are possible.”
Lord, we beg for Your blessing to America, both black and white and every other color of skin, not because it deserves it (it doesn’t) but for a witness of Your grace and love to the undeserving. Please confound the naysayers, those who doubt that anything can happen but the same-old same-old. Please raise up a wisdom that will astound the world. In Your Son’s name we pray. Amen.
“A disgrace” or not it was criminal. Soft petaling these behaviors will have the same result today as in 1968.
And we ourselves bleat as though the fate of everything were fixed.
In doing so, we form Old Scratch’s cheerleading squad.
And yet if we all got what we deserved, we would end up in hell.
I-94 runs north west from the south east corner of Minnesota to Minneapolis in the middle of the state and then continues north west to near the top and turns due West to Billings, MT..
Its a main highway for that area...
Why are these lawless animals allowed to interfere with the progress of American citizens and commerce on our nation’s roads ???
why are they allowed to deny American citizens their right to freedom to move around the country and the pursuit of happiness like enjoying a vacation or going to work ???
Why are they allowed to hold American citizens hostage ???
Among those American citizens these lawless terrorists are holding prisoner for hours are little children in need of nourishment and ill people on their way to a doctor or hospital...
Why are these lawless animals not held accountable for their crimes against the people of America ??????
When the BLM domestic terrorists become violent and threaten lives, their heads should have been turned into pink mist to end their terrorist threat.
“””The chief said the protesters turned into criminals. I am absolutely disgusted, [and] I am not going to tolerate it. I just cant believe this occurred. This is just something that doesnt happen in St. Paul.
Sorry Chief, the protesters were already criminals and Soros paid foreign agents. It’s time you faced the facts. “””””
This a new chief who actually came up the ranks. He is not some politically correct appointee. I believe he will take no crap from the thugs.
I’m waiting for the governor to reprimand the chief for his use of violence against people of color and racist comments about the protestors.
No question, bet the rent. Life is way too short to be volunteering for that BS. Nowadays, half the cities and counties will throw their own cops under the bus without thought.
I do not know, though 100+ were reportedly booked and I haven’t heard any specifics on complaints that even ambulances and fire vehicles were blocked. Generally when asking for damages, one first discovers what they actually were.
He won’t take any crap from thugs? Way too late for that.
>>21 officers hurt
It is a test for those who believe in it versus those who are there to collect a paycheck and fat bennies while carrying on the proverbial dog shootings.
I think the heroes will step up as the zeroes leave.
They’ll be the first to be jailed by their own so-called local government leaders.
I know. We should nuke them and dare the law to do something about it, taking a page from Duterte (who right now with his move looks like he is wooing a military coup against him in PI).
If we want law, then surprise, we get it. With all its delays, waiting, and inconveniences.
