While the nation’s private sector employment grew by a solid 172,000 jobs overall in June, according to ADP, the goods-producing sector lost a staggering 36,000 jobs for the month.

But the goods-producing sector followed May’s loss of 5,000 jobs in May with an even bigger loss last month. […]

Among industries, manufacturing suffered the most, losing 21,000 jobs in June. Construction also lost 5,000 jobs for the month. On the other hand, the trade/transportation/utilities industry added 55,000 positions, while the professional/business services industry added 51,000. …

One good paying full time job is replaced by three part time minimum wage jobs. Net job gain.....TWO. Good news, right?

How many seasonally adjusted jobs did they throw in to get to that number? 150k? 175k?

Someone on FR a few days back suggested that a huge trade defecit was a sign of a great economy and that service sector jobs are actually very good ones, many of them.

He had charts and said that manufacturing is low wage and needs low numbers of workers, nowadays.

I disagreed, but was not sharp enough on the topic to refute him as others would have.

His two charts were compelling and again, I wasn’t in a position to break them down as wrong.

Funny that he thought manufacturing was so worthless when it made China’s GDP grow at 8 percent for YEARS.

Failure is the new normal.

Oh, and there are no homeless people anymore. At least since the last 7 years.

Wonder what percentage of those new jobs were related Obamacare and Healthcare?

Obama and the Left are bragging about how the economy is booming. Well yes, it is probably doing pretty well in the Healthcare sector because we are all now forced to pay the Obamacare tax while the rest of the economy is in the pits and no getting better.

Worst of all average folks are seeing what is left of their savings quickly depleted as they pay for the Obamacare premiums and tax.

People need good jobs to pay the Obamacare premiums and those jobs are not available.

But the media knows there are several million ready to hit the streets the day President Trump is inaugurated.

Manufacturing today is good paying and high tech that requires skilled employees and less labor. Serving sectors like Aerospace, Medical, Energy and Technology. These are jobs we want, not part time jobs at the dollar store.

IIRC the dims, and parroted by the MSM, claimed Geo. Bush’s years were the worst economy since the Great Depression even though unemployment was in the 5-6% range.
If the new jobs growth wasn’t 250k per month the economy wasn’t keeping up with population increases.

I can’t remember a single month during Zer0’s years that even came close.

The MSM is the conscience of the country. They decide what the people get upset about by their reporting and editing (primarily by omission). Been saying that for many yrs.
