PALO ALTO, Calif. (AP) -- Theranos says the federal government has banned founder and CEO Elizabeth Holmes from owning or running a medical laboratory for two years.
The company announced the decision by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services on Thursday.

In other words, they didn’t pay their proper tribute to the DNC.
She got some political heavyweights onto the Board of Directors to provide an illusion of importance and viability, but apparently they never had the real goods in terms of quality testing. Their Chief Scientist committed suicide a while back, reportedly despondent over all the false claims by management which were not being upheld by the lab work.
ha ha, maybe, although I think their technical failures were so egregious that it may have been difficult to keep the illusion going any longer.

When Holmes landed on the Forbes billionaire list in 2014, Theranos had raised $400 million, and the company had a valuation of $9 billion. Holmes owns about half of Theranos, with her worth estimated at more than $4.5 billion.
Holmes assembled a board of directors for Theranos that last year was described by Fortune magazine as “what may be, in terms of public service, the most illustrious board in U.S. corporate history.” Among those board members are a retired Navy admiral, a retired Marine Corps general, former US Sens. Sam Nunn and Bill Frist, former CDC director William Foege, former Wells Fargo CEO Dick Kovacevich, and two former secretaries of state, George Shultz and Henry Kissinger.

As a Medical Technolotist.. How did I miss this story? Weird. My 20 year old college daughter is starting to recover from two gunshots... So I have been out of the loop, I guess. Interesting board, doesn’t sound like they were really shooting for helpful Medical Technology. Sounds like a “oops, we didn’t shut the lab door” virulent viral group.
