NATO leaders agreed on Friday to deploy military forces to the Baltic states and eastern Poland for the first time and increase air and sea patrols to reassure allies who were once part of the Soviet bloc following Russia's seizure of Crimea from Ukraine.

The phrase originated in the title of an article ("Mourir pour Dantzig?") by the French Neo-Socialist writer Marcel Déat, published on May 4, 1939 in the Parisian newspaper L'Œuvre[fr][2][3] The article concerned one of the Nazi German ultimatums to the Second Polish Republic, regarding the demand to transfer control of the Free City of Danzig (Gdańsk) to Germany.[4] In the article, Déat argued in favor of the appeasement policy.

And at the time, more folks were upset at Poland for not giving in to the Nazi demands.

There was a great Polish-produced series about those times and that was the title of one of the episodes, so that’s how I was familiar with it.

At that time the population of Danzig was 99% German. Pat Buchanan is totally right about that one. We forcibly took Kosovo away from Serbia and handed it to the “”albanian kosovars(TM)” for being less totally albanian than that.

".....following Russia's seizure of Crimea from Ukraine."

For God's sake man, what kind of BS is that? Crimea refused to knuckle under to the Soros/Nuland/Obama created junta in Kiev and voted upwards of 90% to rejoin Russia which it had always been part of prior to Khruschev's putting it under Ukrainian government as a purely administrative move in the mid 50s.

As I see it, NATO’s mission ended in 1991, since then, they have been used to

Protect Bosnia and create a Bosniak-Jihadi pipeline to Europe and elsewhere
Establish Kosovo as a Wahabbist state in Europe
Assassinate Khaddafi, whose corpse was sodomized with a sword by NATO’s Al-Qaeda allies. Libya was turned into a failed state, killing 100,000, and kicking-off the greatest refugee crisis in europe since WWII.

Now they are preparing for war with Russia over what exactly?

Then why wasn’t Hitler satisfied with just taking back Danzig and the Corridor?

Because he was a villainous jerk. Nonetheless by my own reckoning at least, Hitler was not the villainous jerk who started WW-II in Europe. The British and the pollacks started WW-II in Europe.

You mean because the British and the Poles refused Hitler’s requests to become accomplices in his crimes?

The “villainous crime” of demanding the return of a city which was 99% German??

I mean, there are better reasons than that not to like Hitler...

You know that was just a pretext towards his ultimate goal.

If Poland had agreed to return Danzig, he would have moved the goalposts and demanded more. He got the Sudetenland, and then within a few months just decided to take the rest of Czechoslovakia.
