Why Dump Trump effort faces likely defeat at GOP convention

Despite a continuing effort and lots of noise by a band of insurgents, Donald Trump and the Republican Party are on track to defeat rebels trying to head off his nomination at this month's convention.

Far from giving up, the "dump Trump" forces are seeking new supporters and spending money to run ads, hire staff and set up office space near the GOP convention site in Cleveland to try to prevent the real estate mogul from becoming the GOP presidential nominee. Here's why it will be hard for them to succeed:

Numbers are stacked against the insurgents. Trump triumphed in the vast majority of this year's primaries and caucuses, giving him 1,542 delegates, according to The Associated Press. That's well above the 1,237 needed to clinch the nomination.

It's past time for all Republicans to wake up and support Trump to avoid President Hillary Clinton.

Any anti- Trump activities at the R convention only help Hillary.

After the FBI is going to let Hillary run off into lala land with no consequences, I would think Trump would have a heckuva boost. People are fed up with the “good old boys, take care of ourselves while the public gets the shaft” mentality in D.C.

I'm not so sure. Anyone who has even the slightest of doubts about hillary will not want to support the candidate enabled by Romney, McCain, the Bush Dynasty, Kasick, Walker, and all the other elitists who want to own a political party. She's the candidate of folks who don't keep pledges they made.

The “cake eaters and tea sippers” of the Republican elite don’t care if Hillary is president as long as they can continue to live off the taxpayer and keep their “cake and tea”....

It is blatantly obvious from their actions that they car nothing about America or the American people...

The losers don’t want to admit defeat.

People who oppose Trump and call themselves Courageous Conservatives are helping Hillary Clinton.

Its not like they’re offering a candidate for the Convention to consider who can win.

They’ll be spending time, money and effort for nothing.

“Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.”

— Communist Goal #15
When this has been entrenched for decades, they will of course work somewhat hard to keep it concealed from the public. However, at this point, they clearly believe that enough of the public morality has been corrupted to the point where the vast majority will either be aligned with them morally (demonstrated by their becoming more transparent in their intentions of late) or not enough will be able to wake up to it; if people stay asleep after this, then the nightmare will be sleepwalked into for sure.

Two possibilities come to mind:
  1. it is mostly media spin, and,
  2. the Depublican perps fear death, disfigurement, and dismemberment.

“We still have the ‘little pricks’ Ryan and McConnell taking pot-shots at Trump.”

I saw Ryan going on again about the Jewish racism because of the 6 pointed star on Trump’s ad against Hillary. What a disgrace Ryan is, and McConnell not much better. Let’s rid ourselves of these fools at the ballot box! The way we all drew stars in our youth was to draw a triangle, and up-end a triangle on top...voila, a 6 pointed star and there was nary a hint of Jewish racism intended or thought of!

I've been saying it for months.

Dump Trump is an exercise in self-delusion.

...and that's not really what this is about. That two-equilateral triangle symbol is a Jewish star. What was on the tweet was just a six-pointed solid, which isn't even. This is a Jewish star, or Star of David Or derogatorily used,
