The Maple Leaf Forever in my view is the true national anthem of Canada, written by Alexander Muir, it is the best Canadian song ever made.
At Queenston Heights and Lundy's Lane, Our brave fathers, side by side, For freedom, homes and loved ones dear, Firmly stood and nobly died; And those dear rights which they maintained, We swear to yield them never! Our watchword evermore shall be "The Maple Leaf forever!"
Wonderful tune. I first heard it long ago when it was played as the Toronto Maple Leafs took to the ice at the beginning of hockey games.
Bump and kudos to our Canadian FRiends!
Canada is our strongest ally. Just wish voters on both sides of the border would wise up and elect people who love our respective countries.
Canada is America’s largest trading partner.
The best Canadian song ever written is any song written by Gordon Lightfoot. Saw him last week and it was incredible. Guy is a national treasure.
Agreed. I like this song even more so since Our One decided to further emasculate “O Canada” by replacing “In all thy Sons Command” with “All thy Ones Command”. Really goes to show how his priorities are about the same as the complete utter ninny still currently in the White House.
