I mentioned it a long time ago about Dr. Carson. If you have to keep getting "re-advised" on the meaning of the 2nd amendment, you probably, no, you for sure AREN'T the guy. He should be off the table for any cabinet post after that comment. Sturgeon major? Nah, he might ask for cdc funding to study "gun violence". Sorry Dr. Ben. Adios.

Good point about what he could do as surgeon general.

Dear Dr. Carson,
after 8 years of Obama dictatorship, subversion, and IslamoNazification of USA...
the answer to your question is patently clear.
We do not have to discuss it.
Go equip yourself with the very best defenses you can ....

I’ve been saying for a while that Ben Carson was a Leftist plant; his role may have been to ensure a Jeb Bush victory, or it may have been to give lazy leftist Comedy Central hacks free material. Whatever his intentions, his statement on the Second Amendment betrays his closet liberal beliefs.

I’m hardly a gun fanatic, but this is just stupid. Even if you made every gun in America illegal tomorrow... hey, does anyone remember prohibition? That didn’t work out too well, either, and there are a trillion guns out there for people to pass around illegally. All you’d accomplish by taking away our right to own guns is the government’s ability to track who has them and try and keep the lunatics from acquiring them legally.

As long as you have a government, you need a Second Amendment. When you don’t have a government, you need it even more.

It was put on the table: 19th April 1775. Issue settled.

We do. End of discussion. It’s true that Dr. Carson is an intelligent man, but he’s not more intelligent than all our Founders combined.

I AGREE with him. We should have a debate on repealing the Second Amendment, and if 2/3’s of Congress (both houses), plus 38 states agree - then we appeal it. That is our process, and if the country wants to repeal it, then SO BE IT - it should be repealed. (but fat chance of the Dems ever getting that vote to go their way)
What I CANNOT STAND are judges that simply ignore the Second Amendment - that sickens me.

It doesn't matter whether I
"need" it or not.
I've already "got" it now. Why should I ask somebody else if I can keep it.
Go away Ben.

"This may be considered as the true palladium of liberty
The right of self defense is the first law of nature: in most government it has been the study of rules to confirm this right within the narrowest limits possible. Wherever standing armies are kept up, and the right of the people to keep and bear arms is, under any color of pretext whatsoever, prohibited, liberty, if not already annihilated, is on the brink of destruction." - St. George Tucker - View of the Constitution of the U. S., 1803

A couple of things I have learned. First listen for yourself from the person. Second don’t go with the crowd just for the sake of being in the group think.
I found no controversy in what he said wonder why there is so much of it here. A hidden agenda maybe.
