CHICAGO (AP) — A Chicago singer who appeared on the Mexican version of "The Voice" in 2011 has died after he was shot in an ambush while celebrating his birthday with friends.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office confirmed that 45-year-old Alejandro "Jano" Fuentes died on Saturday. He was shot three times in the head late Thursday outside his Tras Bambalinas School on Chicago's southwest side.

Yes, poorly worded title. “after being shot” would be better wording?
Three times in the head does not sound like random victim of careless firearm handling.
I think “shot and killed” would convey the meaning best. Using “after” breaks the cause-and-effect chain.
For example, “Famous FReeper Tax-chick dies after eating mushrooms.” Did I die because the mushrooms were poisonous? Did I fall down the stairs an hour after eating the harmless mushrooms? Lightning strike? Vampire attack?
This was no random shooting - it was an execution

Looked at 3 other sources, lots of information Fuentes, very talented, but no description of the perp.

For instance, police-related shootings are way down while shootings in general are way up.
This indicates that the police are taking a back seat to the action or at least taking much more of a defensive role.
Considering the war on Police by the current political establishment, I can't say I blame them.
“After being shot” clearly only involves one victim. But “After shooting” leaves the reader wondering if it was maybe a ‘mass’ shooting. The headline was deliberately misleading.

Police reportedly said Perkins was a known gang member, but his family said he wasn't anymore. WGN reports the victim's brother was also shot and killed a few years ago. Chicago's currently facing a major gun violence crisis. According to the Chicago Tribune, the first three months of 2016 saw a 73 percent jump in shootings compared to the first three months the year prior. And at least 1,709 people have been shot in the city so far this year.
