In both my vocation and, especially, my avocation, I am regularly exposed (no double entendre intended!) to homoerotic males, far above the normal representation in society.
Smile: I have been amazed how consistently true this one is. It is indicative when present, but inconclusive when absent.
Clap: Although not as reliable as the smile, I have noted this as well.
Neither of these is absolutely reliable: Stereotypes exist for a reason; they become problematic when they are ruthlessly applied without any external confirmation. I know a few such males who are almost (not quite, but almost) normal in mannerism and behavior.
I have often wondered how much of this is inherent and how much is cultivated.
In my youth, I did not consider myself particularly masculine. I was a shy nerd; I was civilized and unaggressive. However, the longer I live, the more masculine I feel: Our culture is becoming so androgynous, if not effeminate, it sickens me. I find myself longing for a John Wayne to come along and kick America in its collective arse.
(By the bye, I have never smiled like Soetoro the Joker even once in my entire life.)

Also, and this is kind of fun, just alone in my head I will watch women to see which among them actually do kind of speak with the gay affected “accent.” Some women do. That is where gays appropriated it. I was kind of astounded in Europe to see that with such different languages, most gay men had the same lisping, dramatic gay manner of speaking. Only when a man I knew for years came out and took on the speech patterns did I realize it was affected.
My Jewdar is wayyyy too complicated to put into words, but it is pretty good too (I happen to be of that persuasion). I get stumped on occasion - got stumped recently when I was told Simon Cowell was Jewish. But then I looked him up and he is half Jewish, so I felt vindicated. Lol. Worst Jewdar is the world is my Israeli friend. So funny!!!!! Used to test her in public and she had no clue. Everyone was always Jewish when she grew up so she doesn’t have the trained pattern recognition I do from growing up in schools that were at least half Jewish. She’d look at a tousled blond teen with a surfer tan and say “Jewish?” And then a Grandpa Munster type would walk by and she’d say “Not Jewish?” Clueless.
Better be permanent.
And better start removing existing ones immediately.
