Trump Should Widen — Not Heal — Breech Within GOP

But the fact is that the attacks by Romney and others not only do not harm Trump’s chances of winning. They enhance them. Rather than seek to heal the split, he should try to widen it. A political leader is particularly credible when he speaks ill of members of his own party, particularly after the primary season has ended. While we treat as boiler plate criticism of Democrats by Republicans and vice versa, we take seriously derogatory comments about members of one’s own party (hence the media’s interest in intraparty criticism of Trump). If Trump can criticize the Romney wing of the party as elitist, out of touch, pro-Wall Street, and insensitive to the problems of the average American, he can make empathetic common cause with millions of Independent and Democratic voters who have rejected the GOP for precisely these reasons.

Remember when Cruz’ filibuster was going to splinter the party and DESTROY their chances a few years ago?

Well, not that it really did us any good, but we had a landslide.

People aren’t worried over “Fractured” parties.

Just the guy who’s running.

“Rather than seek to heal the split, he should try to widen it.”

Bingo. The last thing we need is Ryan, McConnell (and Cruz) acting as Trump surrogates. Everyone hates them.

This is scary. I agree with Dick Morris. Dick Morris is always wrong.

God I hate agreeing with Dick Morris. Of course he is correct on this. The tory pearl clutchers need to be shown the door. And we need to fight. Always.

Listen, and understand. The left-scum are out there. They can’t be bargained with. They can’t be reasoned with. They don’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And they absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.

I think he has a point. There shouldn’t even be a “Romney Wing” of the GOP.
Might as well have a Hillary Wing and an 0bama Wing of the GOP.

If it means breaking off that parasitical, useless layer of well-fed fools who have been leeching off the public as our “leaders” for so long, then hell yes he ought to widen it. He ought to saw off the entire Beltway and set it adrift in the arctic and let the starving polar bears take care of it for us. And I consider myself a moderate on the issue.

I believe it was Dick Morris who invented, and/or named, Political Triangulation.

Every time I see the name Dick Morris or see him on Fox I think “Toe sucking prostitute, $400 hotel.” From then on I just can’t take seriously anything he says.

"And I consider myself a moderate on the issue."

Yeah, me too.

But I still have a longing for trials and hangings on the Capitol steps.
