London mayor plans negative body image advert ban on Tube, buses and trains [Islamic Conquest]

Adverts promoting negative body images will be banned across the Transport for London (TfL) network from next month. As part of his mayoral election manifesto Sadiq Khan pledged to ban adverts promoting "unhealthy or unrealistic" body images. The advertising watchdog received 378 complaints in 2015 about a weight-loss advert that asked customers if they were "beach body ready?" Mr Khan has now asked TfL to set up its own advertising steering group. The Protein World "beach body ready" promotional posters were defaced in Tube stations and a petition was started calling for the adverts to be banned, however the Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) watchdog later ruled the advert depicting a bikini-clad female model was neither offensive nor irresponsible.

The steering group will advise TfL's advertising partners and stakeholders of the mayor's new policy and will ensure adverts continue to adhere to the regulations set out by the ASA. Mr Khan said:

"As the father of two teenage girls, I am extremely concerned about this kind of advertising which can demean people, particularly women, and make them ashamed of their bodies. It is high time it came to an end."

No negative body image advertisements?

I guess there won’t be any plus-size ads

Apparently, it’s not true than Khan’s wife now wears a burqa. The blogger who posted that has admitted he was mistaken. However, I wouldn’t put it past him in the future. I’m sure it’s all part of the plan.

If Britain is like America, that negative body image might not be coming from advertising:

40% of U.S. Women Are Now Obese

I blame the patriarchy.

Looks like London has become a Caliphate.

And without a shot fired.

Wonder what Churchill would have said....

I blame the queers who run the fashion industry and trot out women that look like starving refugees as models. Women know they can't look like starved rats so the give up. Check out the difference between women in ads and fashion modeling back in the fifties and sixties and you'll see what I mean.

Back then a women could look healthy and still be considered shapely or someone with a nice figure, not so much now. Anyone who knows by the time they're fifteen they're never going to match the ideal and be called fat even if they're just healthy won't bother trying to watch their weight, I've heard that from a number of my daughters' friends over the years when she was younger. Any form of dieting just goes out the window whether.

IMHo, that's at least a major factor in so many women being obese.

You have an unfinished sentence in that post, "Any form of dieting just goes out the window whether." I'm curious about how that sentence ends.

I notice daily that many young women are have stopped dieting and exercising. I don't understand why.

". . . whether for health or other reasons"

I got lost trying to think of what all the "other reasons" might be but they all come down to wanting to improve your image or self-image I guess. I've known women who weren't the least bit in danger of being thought of as overweight but who still went on a diet each spring so they'd look better at the beach the following summer which never made a lot of sense to me since such diets amounted to losing a few pounds no one but the dieter noticed, not making some major change.

So, yeah, I didn't notice I hadn't finished when I posted. I often get interrupted around here and it seems like writing a comment attracts interruptions. Sorry.
