Gays are 3% of the voting population. Not much help.

Any gay person that would have voted Hillary but stays home is +1. Every gay person that would have voted for Hillary but votes for Trump is +2. So this is as much as a 6% effective swing. Plus, gays punch above their weight both financially and culturally. And from now on, Hillary has to fight hard to keep every gay vote, which previously were locked in.

It was a good post and well-worthing reading. I did not mean to imply otherwise.

I think many LGBTQ people realize what happened last weekend--and a near-tragedy that happened in Seattle at the end of 2013 when a Muslim man tried to set fire to a popular gay nightclub during a New Year's Eve party--has shaken the LGBTQ community to its very core.

They now realize the Democrats are insanely supporting two constituencies, where one constituency (the Muslims) want to wipe the other (the LGBTQ community) off the face of the Earth by the most cowardly means possible--outright murder--using the very words of the Qu'ran itself. And every other group now realizes radical Islam supporters will target anyone NOT Muslim (and other Muslims too). And the response from President, the presumptive Democratic nominee, and other Democratic party leaders to this tragecy are making people feel queasy for lots of obvious reasons.

Even the head of the Phoenix LGBT group came out and endorsed Trump after the attack.

This phony group also gave itself away when they couldn't even spell "LGBT" right (they first tweeted as "LBGT"), and the Twitter account was created after the shooting. I swear, seminar callers to Rush do a better job of disguising their tracks.

Yeah and I remember what Bush said after the 9/11 attacks that Muslims are our friends, how did that turn out..it happens on both sides of the aisle, this is what happens when you appease Muslims and try to kiss their behind, they end up chopping off your head

Conservatives, as if they were some kind of groupthink entity, do not “hate” gays. What they hate is the constant insertion, into every form of entertainment and into much of the news about the world, of the belief that gays or the LGBT community as a whole, have a much greater influence than their actual numbers would imply. As a collection of individuals, the LGBT community does not contribute in much greater measure than any other demographic, and perhaps less than some in terms of thinking about consequences for the future.

LGBT is essentially a study in sterility, and as such, leads to something of a dead end in the constantly evolving social dynamic of humanity. Oh, some few of them may actually end up reproducing, but in nowhere near the numbers that heterosexual pairings do, and only with a great deal of artificial assistance. So many of the concerns that affect most of the rest of the population do not, cannot concern them to very much of a degree.

“Gays are 3% of the voting population. Not much help.”

This is not the way to look at it.

What it does represent is a huge shift in one of the progressives key voting blocks.

Unlike blacks, they’re changing course. The lockstep is broken.

The bigger positive coming out of this is going to be the outsized media coverage and presence this may represent.

We have had everything gay, transgender and lesbian non-stop 24/7 for the past how many years?

Think in terms of media minutes, stories, print/column inches and web pages stories like this will generate.

A key constituency breaking ranks giving a big FU to their “default” party is newsworthy.

Now, the question is how long can the media keep sentiment like this bottled up.

The LGBT media machine is pervasive, ever reaching and their organization skills and abilities are, I daresay, unmatched in America. I can honestly think of no other group that when moved to action can make anything “the” issue that generates more coverage than any other special interest.

Think about it, what other 3% of the population can dominate American society with their issues and media coverage?

3% that can bend the Supreme Court to its will.

I think they might be even less than 3% but they vote in large numbers and they give to political parties.

This election really is about life and death.

LOL. No libtard could actually undergo such a tectonic epiphany without having their head actually explode. I mean eyes bulging out and blood squirting out nose, ears, and eyes head blowing up.

Perhaps one would begin with a small step, and then increasingly “lift the veil” but no, the episode the author describes would leave no survivors so, obviously at least somewhat fraudulent.

So in the future I can expect more friends, more brothers and sisters, more people I identify with to be murdered because we all decide to be what we are.

Interesting choice of words. I thought being gay was set in genetic stone, never to change. It seem the author thinks otherwise.

Regardless, I welcome the change of heart, and in time, as he associates with more conservatives, he will find that much of what he has been led to believe, it not true.
