On Sunday, James Wesley Howell was arrested in Santa Monica with a car full of weapons, ammunition, and chemicals that can be used to create improvised explosives. One day later, we know much more about the suspect but far less than we thought about his intentions. [snip] “He did indicate that he was planning on going to the Pride festival but beyond anything as far as motives or his intentions that statement was never made nor did any officer receive that statement,” Lt. Saul Rodriguez said. Comments one of Howell’s friends made to the Los Angeles Times cast further doubts on what the suspect planned to do with his arsenal. Joseph Greeson, in the paper’s words, said that his friend “harbored no ill will toward gays and lesbians and added that Howell was bisexual.”

What are the Vegas odds that two random gay people on separate coasts both decided to blow up some gays in a major way within 12 hours of each other? Why would someone drive from Indiana to go to the LA Gay Pride Parade when the Florida Gay Pride Parade in April was a lot closer? And who was this perp's missing accomplice he was looking for in Santa Monica (wealthy area), loaded down with chemicals more readily accessible in the farming communities of Indiana than downtown LA? Maybe wife#2 of Pulse murderer gave us a hint when she said she knew the murderer had cased DisneyWorld (or shopping center thereabouts). All we know for sure is dropping a dime to the Santa Monica police may have thwarted a disaster south of Hollywood.

We did see it Gig, the day after Benghazi. It was a horrible hand held video thing with people wearing headscarves and what have you. A link to The Innocence Of Muslims was posted here on FR. As I recall there was less than 500 views when I clicked on it. Yes, Youtube has a view counter delay. But it's ridiculous to think this obscure unwatched (and unwatchable) English language home movie enraged jihadis in Libya.

You did see it Gig, Actually, I never saw the Benghazi video, as I was unconscious in the hospital when the attacks took place. I went in the hospital on Aug. 20, 2012, and after a series of screw-ups and an instance of gross incompetence, I was unconscious, and in a semi-coma for two months. I missed the 2012 election completely,The Newtown massacre, and did not wake up until my birthday on Dec. 23 2012. BTW, thank you for calling me Gig. That has been my nickname for over 50 years. In Detroit, where I grew up, no one calls me by my given name.
