“Ok guys. Since you’re stuck here with us, how about a few tunes to earn your keep.”

“And, none of that hallelujah crap either. Do you know any Elvis or Billy Joel, maybe?”

I wonder how long the “blue pride” shared posts on FB go away?

I will not tolerate the constitution to be defiled by anyone or any group.

It is that silly oath thing.

If they get away with this, they will move on to bigger and better things. Within 20 years, the government will be able to log on and see at a glance all your assets, and pick and choose what they’re going to take. After all, the government hates the fact that you own something and that they don’t.
(See communism 101).

“Prepaid Card Reader Aids Law Enforcement in Seizing Fraudulent Cards”

These cards only point to data that may have bank accounts attached to them. How can their be a fraudulent card. The money in itself is not fraudulent. If the card has been stolen then the value can be zeroed out immediately.

This makes no sense at all.

What happened to the Fifth Amendment?

Well, they have thrown out the 4th that is for sure.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

They may have their fate when they find out how many of us have guns and are willing to use them.

“as long as they suspect that your property is somehow tied to a crime. “

“suspect”
“somehow”
“tied to”
All weasel-words with no clear, defined meaning. They can be interpreted any way the thugs want.

No, it is the disease of confusing being conservative, with authoritarian mentalities. Oklahoma is famous for it. A weird subset of true conservatism where those types are actually fine with a police state....as long as they are in charge.

Another example is the new Texas “open carry” law. You can carry openly, as long as you go get a concealed carry permit first. They always throw in some weird twist.

Michigan just passed a law restricting the ability of the police to use civil forfeiture laws. It’s not perfect but it is a step in the right direction.

After watching the police stand down to rioters from Baltimore to Chicago to San Jose, and seeing this expansion of civil forfeiture, it is getting pretty obvious what side the police are on, and it is not the side of liberty.

“If he stays in this special retention program for 8 years he can retire with a pension between 400k to half a million dollars. “

That sounds like one of those programs where someone has retired. A department hires them back, and banks their salary for 8 years. At the end of that period, they get a lump sum for that deferred salary for that entire period.

The department gets a very experience cop who isn’t out wrecking cars, getting sued, learning the ropes, but they don’t have to pony up the salary up front like the would for a new hire. The city can invest the amount it takes to pay them 8 years from now.
it’s a very good deal for the city compared to the alternative.

I don’t think it’s liberals in this case, just a different mindset. Not a conservative mindset, but one of power and control and money.

So does that mean if there is a fraudulent card found on my account they can just take my money?

>>This allows for identification of suspicious prepaid cards

So cash in that iTunes and Chipotle gift card before going to OK! Perhaps they do this to take the stolen wealth of illegals heading to Mexico. Every Mexican restaurant I know sells those pre-paid Visa cards and pre-paid phone cards by the handful.

Let a drug dog sniff the money in your wallet and see if he "hits".

Probably a good heads up to not go to the Indian casinos that are everywhere in OK. Can see them at the casino alerting the police that you have a bunch of money after a win at the casino .... a split later with the casino leech.
