Don't bring a chainsaw to a gun fight.

OR

Try to always carry the BIGGER gun.

Salafia doesn’t sound like your typical Redneck name.

Lebanese maybe?

Was this a registered chainsaw? Did he carry it concealed and have a permit? These are the questions a good reporter would look into.

Glad the putative victim was armed.

Nonetheless, I have mixed feelings about the following:

“While trying to leave the area, Salafia cut himself with the chainsaw and left blood splatter on the victim’s car, police said.”

A. Apparently the chain was actually sharp; most amateur chainsaw wielders don’t have a clue about how to keep their chain sharp.

B. On the other hand, maybe this fool would have been better off with a dull chain, after all.

From PD report, page 2:

Turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. Original incident was May 6th when Salafia was involved in a dispute with another motorist. At a red light Salafia exited his vehicle and approached the other operator with a chain saw in his hand. Salafia allegedly started the chain saw and was cursing and shouting racial slurs at the other involved operator who was a black male. The black male showed Salafia a hand gun which he was carrying legally in an effort to stop Salafia from advancing on him. Salafia then left the area, but inadvertently cut himself on the chain saw blade leaving blood spatter on the victim’s car. He was later identified and the investigation resulted in his arrest. The other involved party has not been charged in the incident. Salafia posted bond.

I wonder what the backstory is.

"The other pulled out a gun, which he was carrying legally, police said"

Didn't know this was possible in CT.

I carry mine in an inside-the-waistband holster. You have to be extra careful not to start it too soon.
