Mexicans are already taking our jobs, and now they’re taking my golf tournament.

OK, so Donald Trump didn’t exactly speak those words when he found out that the PGA Tour is moving one of its prestigious golf events away from Trump’s resort at Doral and down to Mexico.

This could give South Florida to Trump in the Nov election.

“They’re moving it to Mexico City, which, by the way, I hope they have kidnapping insurance,” [Trump said]

Good advice. Trump has been known to be somewhat prophetic.

Last week, a relative was on a cruise that stopped in Mexico. The bus from the cruise ship to the (private) beach had to go through a locked gate and there was “beach security”, making sure the guests and their possessions did not disappear. My relative said he was glad to see the security & he even tipped one guard who personally checked on him & his family a half dozen times. Several years ago, he and his wife also attended the wedding of a co-worker that was held in Mexico - they were met at the airport, armed guards were on hand to escort their vehicles, and the wedding was at a home protected by walls and armed guards. We breathed a sigh of relief when he & his wife were back in the states
