Bad cultures create hellholes.
When people leave their hellholes they bring that culture with them... creating the place they were running from. It’s why limits on immigration work best. Assimilation can take place...

Kind of reminds me of the last days of Chiang Kai-shek. Rather then fighting he retreated to Taiwan and let a far weaker army take over China while vowing to return. He allowed the culture to be destroyed.
During the cold war I could never imagine that we ever thought of the eastern countries as our salvation. That is what it looks like how it's going to play out. We being saved by the east.

This is what usually happens to former empires. The resulting generations are born with guilt about having even been an empire in the first place. We’ve seen this in all of the former European countries which once had colonies.
