Eggs and grits mixed together drowned in hot sauce is pretty good. And if you let thick grits sit in the fridge overnight it turns solid and you can cut it and fry squares in bacon grease, then crumble the bacon over it. The texture’s different and it’s not bad.

If I hadn’t dated a Mississippi woman I probably could have died happily gritless ;)

Living in Georgia and don’t eat grits? Goodness. Put enough grated cheddar cheese and butter on them and they’re not too bad. My grandson eats a lot of them for breakfast instead of oatmeal or cream of wheat.

Kind of like other parts of the south serve rice with everything, which we eat a lot of, sometimes with fried round steak and brown gravy. Yum!

My husband had to have grits with his eggs for breakfast every morning. When I was pregnant the smell was overwhelming. But, being the “good wife”, I would stir and then run to the bathroom, get sick, run back and stir - rinse and repeat.

OMG! That brought back memories of my first husband when I was pregnant with our second child. He expected a bacon or scrapple or sausage and egg sandwich to take to work with him, and like you, the smell would make me gag but I'd get that sucker done and packed in this bag. We were young. LOL
