The state Senate on Thursday approved sweeping new restrictions on using guns in California in response to the December mass shooting by two terrorists that left 14 dead in San Bernardino.

Lawmakers approved 11 bills including measures mandating background checks for Californians buying ammunition and outlawing the manufacture and sale of semiautomatic rifles with detachable magazines.

The bills, which next go to the Assembly for consideration, represent the most ambitious effort at gun control in decades in California, which already has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation.

Anyone got any single shot rifles for sale? Ammo? Come across the state line to NV and git ya some. Or, does each round have to have some sort of CA approved marking on it. Who the hell are these people? Next step, possession of semi-auto rifles? Not that they want to deny anybody's 2nd amendment rights.

Not sure how Trump will go on his appointments to the SC, but I am damn sure they will be far better, by a factor of 1000 to 1, to those that Hitlery will make regarding 2A.

These laws will make their way to the high court in 3 years or so, the current 4-4 split could well be 3-6 against our side with Clintoon in.

While they are at it, why not redefine pi to be equal to 3.0?

‘Twould have the same effect on the universe.

How is that not “infringement” on the right to bear arms?

It is a face-value violation of the Constitution. It violates both the letter and the spirit.

I think it was Roman senator Marcus Tullius Cicero who said "Politicians are not born, they are excreted".

Sadly, they have also banned the word “infringe” in Cali.

Remember, these laws were instituted because enemies of the US started shooting up a gun-free zone. Just think what sorts of gun control California could enact if the Chinese army started a full-on invasion of the US mainland starting in California in an outright declaration of war!

Well, altering Pi would make calculating easier. But isn’t it really about the method used to achieve your conclusion than the actual correct answer?. :)

It’s probably better to not wish for KA to slide into the ocean. I would miss the few good FRiends that reside there.

Don’t know how anyone could stand the KA lunacy though.

Pencils write bad poetry also.

Probably be no civilian sales of ammo and turn in all your weapons at the nearest armory. NorCal probably already turned theirs in. Right guys and gals? Or was it that dang boating accident deal.

Ironically, I believe very strong support will come from the Hispanic members of their legislature. Remember, Mexico has draconian gun laws that keep the people from arming themselves while the cartels go wild. If any people should want to defend themselves....
This is the underside of “Diversity”. Most migrant groups follow their home country’s view on gun ownership.

California is evidence of what the left wishes for the rest of the country and what they would do if they were unopposed. A freaking leftist nightmare.

What can be done in California to protect peoples’ rights to own and bear arms? No matter who runs for office it seams as if the pro-2nd amendment people will always be in the minority.
