Trump's picks include Steven Colloton of Iowa, Allison Eid of Colorado and Raymond Gruender of Missouri.

Also on the list are: Thomas Hardiman of Pennsylvania, Raymond Kethledge of Michigan, Joan Larsen of Michigan, Thomas Lee of Utah, William Pryor of Alabama, David Stras of Minnesota, Diane Sykes of Wisconsin and Don Willett of Texas. Trump had previously named Pryor and Sykes as examples of kind of justices he would choose.

Smart. This is how you start convincing principled conservatives that had doubts whether or not Trump is conservative enough. Great move.

Is it also possible that this is chaff-and-flares for the chickens*** media who are doing free DNC opposition research?

Trump's allies have been very vocal of late about being contacted by multiple reporters asking 'bizarre' questions about the smallest trifles.

These people may be qualified and the best choices but I get the sense (and hope) that Trump is going to run them ragged chasing down ghosts.

What a contrast.

Trump is unveiling his picks for the Court.

The Democrats in Nevada (and potentially in Pennsylvania later) are in NEED of a Court!

Judge Roy Moore would have been an excellent inclusion in the list as well.

The Republican party, as the more — ahhem — conservative and sensible of the two major parties, should somehow require the candidate to name a suite of likely cabinet members, and the party should (somehow) present this suite of individuals as a slate of Presidential.

In my view, middle America would have their eyes opened a bit to the larger policy outcomes which come with a new administration, and focus less on the charms of the candidate as a person.

Presidents come with hundreds or thousands of policy formulators and policy executioners. Voters don’t see this clearly.

Our side wins if we compare our guys to their guys.

Call me a political lightweight, but could any FReepers out there provide analysis of this list of names? They are only a listing of names to me. How conservative are they? What are their opinions based on prior rulings? How close to The Constitution in their rulings?

Many thanks.

It’s a mixed bag. Don Willett is a solid conservative. Thom Hardiman has been reversed a lot. Some of the others are squishy semi-conservatives I wouldn’t want to depend on in a major case.

There’s another thread that was already started that has gotten into the names: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3431733/posts

These 2 threads should probably be combined.

Oh please. John McCain was a George Soros BFF and neo-progressive amnesty pimp, and there was NO #NeverMcCain movement. The people who oppose Trump are establishment progressives, not conservatives.
