You are correct re “fossil fuels,” but it is almost a religion to some. It is petroleum, plain and simple.

fossil fuels Petroleum geologists use tiny ancient "microfossils" to find oil. The study of tiny ancient fossils is called micropaleontology.
I doubt that they're "stupid".
