Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is vowing to help defend North Carolina's law on transgender restrooms — and hinting that a similar measure could be coming soon to his state.
Abbott, a former state attorney general, told delegates at the Texas GOP convention in Dallas on Thursday, "I am working with the governor of North Carolina, and we are going to fight back."
The U.S. Justice Department is suing North Carolina over its new law requiring transgender people to use public bathrooms corresponding to the gender on their birth certificates.
Texas Republicans have used the issue to delight conservatives, even though legislative action isn't likely until state lawmakers reconvene in January.
Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick wants the Fort Worth school district superintendent to resign over guidelines to accommodate transgender students.
Good, maybe little hungry Juan's family will move to New Mexico.

Its good politics in an election year for the GOP and the Democrats, of course, who must pander to the LGBT activists.
What bothers me is the corporate opposition to religious freedom laws protecting gay marriage dissenters. Big Business versus the First Amendment for religious people and institutions.
In March, Republican Governor Nathan Deal of Georgia vetoed a bill opposed by big corporations that would have
specifically protected churches and religious institutions that object to gay marriage.
The GOP is using bathrooms to duck their cave in to the business elites that run our corporatist political system.
Its an emotional election year diversion that sadly will end up with courts imposing the bathroom issue in the end.
This is like the emotional diversion of SB 1070 in Arizona in 2010 that diverted from closing the border on illegal immmigration but got gutted by the courts in the end anyway.

I’m using what the LORD HIMSELF gave me.....I know, your statement was made in jest, but I’m proud that I voted for Governor Greg Abbott and Lt. Governor Dan Patrick who both, so far, have shown that long lost item known as “Common Sense”.
If Abbott wants to win this fight, all he has to say is that Texas will no longer accept any federal education dollars and will withdraw from all federal education guidelines and regulations.

Nobody ix X-raying pants, and in practice if your garb made it plausible that you were (choose gender) and you otherwise behaved yourself, you would not get any grief for going into the associated public restroom.
What has happened here is an assault on a fig leaf. That can lead to an explosive reaction, but without God truly in the midst, it won’t do anything but destroy.
I think you’re right...I don’t know if it will be a big physical war, but it will definitely be a left/right state/federal type of battle...
