The younger generation of today has no idea at all of what it meant for a white woman to cross the color line and run with black men back in 1960.
As far as society and the culture of the time was concerned sex with a black man was at the top of the list of things nice white girls didn't do.
There were huge societal taboos against any young single woman having out-of-wedlock sex with any man in that era.
But for a white woman to have sex with a black man back then was the ultimate disgrace.
It was an act of rebellion form which there was no return.
To have a mulatto baby made the transgression even worse.
Stanley Ann's mother and father may have still loved her when she showed up pregnant by a black man but just about every other white person
would have crossed the street to avoid her.
And by all the accounts of her conduct in those years she didn't limit her favors to just one black man.
