Makes you wonder where the millions really get spent by the others’ campaigns.

So how is the peoples’ choice a “hostile takeover?”

There are 1000’s here in Houston who are looking for jobs that do not allow lunch breaks and offer 50-hour work weeks.
Dear Lord, bless them with a successful job search. Amen.

People were “jittery” about Jeb and Lindsey Graham - it’s why together they never broke twenty percent.

A hostile takeover of one of America's two major political parties.

Just a darn minute. Who or what is the Republican Party? I'd say it's the people who vote Republican. It's not the Party "leadership."

I spent several years as a precinct committeeman, and as County Central Committee Chairman. At no time did I think "I" was the Party. The Party was the people who elected me, and whose votes I sought for particular candidates.

The Party members voted for Trump. That's not a hostile takeover. That's an election.

What some people call a hostile takeover others call joyful victory. :-)

"I was a walker guy, but... if we could pull the lever for mittens...."

Agreed. Walker was not a great prez candidate debate performance-wise, but he is much more conservative, remarkably accomplished and demonstrably more reliable than DT.

I've been holding my nose and voting against the Democrats since '88.

I'm not sure why this seemingly self defining aspect has become so utterly unimportant at Free Republic in modern times, but we've not had a Freedom advocate as a general election candidate since that time... and STILL don't today. In fact, the likely to win faction of the party is now officially moving in the opposite direction!

So this year might seem more exciting in some respects. But for the conservative/ libertarian/ constitutionalist portions of the party, nothing has changed -- hold nose, vote.

What "hostile takeover"?! Enough people voted for him, to lead, that is called winning.

Most Republicans are not "jittery", but are enthusiastically supporting him.

I believe they make the distinction between the republican voters and "Republicans".

The voters helped him in his hostile (to the GOPE/RNC/Other Republican "Leaders") takeover because they realized that an opportunity like Trump does not often come along.
