North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory (R) said the federal government gave the state an "unrealistic" deadline to respond to a letter informing him that the state's bathroom law violates the Civil Rights Act.
"They gave the ninth-largest state in the United States ... three working days to respond to a pretty complex letter and to a pretty big threat," McCrory said on "Fox News Sunday." "We don't think three working days is enough to respond to such a threat." McCrory said he asked for an extension on Friday.
The Justice Department sent a letter to the governor that says the law violates protections against workplace discrimination based on sex. It gave the governor until Monday to confirm "that the State will not comply with or implement HB2."
Many people in support of LGBT rights condemned the law in North Carolina, which requires transgender people to use public bathrooms corresponding to their biological sex.
McCrory said in an interview Sunday that the Justice Department agreed to give a one-week extension if the governor admits that the language in the bathroom law does discriminate.
"Well, I'm not going to publicly announce that something discriminates, which is agreeing with their letter, because we're really talking about a letter in which they're trying to define gender identity," he said.

You are right on. Chris Wallace is a jerk. I am slowing weaning myself off of FOX and TV news in general. At one time I was a news hound. Couldn’t get enough of it. Now politicians make me sick and news makes me sick.
What these media wackos don’t realize is that their jihad against the Tar Heel State with all their righteous boycotts is producing a very family friendly state.
If the sickos decide that a public restroom is a good place to get beaten down by an enraged father, it becomes safer for all & the word gets around.

It has no business telling the states what it has to do.
The fact that it's become customary for the states to defer to the federal government doesn't mean it has to stay that way.
Somebody needs to step up to the plate and tell the federal government to go screw itself.
The most recent bathroom problem was started by a super liberal mayor of Charlotte, Jennifer Roberts, and her buddy who is a registered sex offender. She pushed the city council to pass an ordinance that allowed any man into a woman’s bathroom, shower or locker room as long as he said he ‘felt’ like a woman at the time. That opened the doors to any sex offender or randy guy with a camera.
The mayor was warned that the state legislature would overturn her ordinance. She went again anyway. Stupid woman. She has cost the city and the state millions.
Perhaps Levin could shut his trap on Trump, and instead help NC.
