This is criminal, treason, and so much more. I REALLY hope Trump follows through and fixes this.

I hope the Trump administration cleans up this mess. Current law states overstays cannot return up to 10 years plus civil fines. They also must cover deportation costs.

Why isn’t overstaying a visa an automatic 10 years in prison?

On top of that, how many millions of visitors comply with the schedule of their tourist visa (e.g. making a visit back home twice per year) but work illegally while here?

Bush should have put the clamps on that the day after 9/11. Why didn’t he?

Visa holders are allowed to come into the US through the front door contingent on their promise to leave the country when their visa expires. They deserve no mercy.

Are you willing to pay for it?
Freeper Oldeconomybuyer's suggestion is much better.

That is visa holders with a visitors visa.
Those that have a immigration visa will get a Green Card and are then considered permanent residents

This is still something we can blame Bush for. The problem goes back to Reagan, with is damn amnesty. So, so many people to blame. Can Trump fix it? Don't know. The wall would be a good first step.
Getting real about the number of illegal aliens in the country would be a good second step. Can't believe they keep quoting 11 million or so for 15+ years when we can look around and see the infestation crowding us out everywhere. I figure it is more like 30-60 million.
Deport all caught, starve the rest out by making it a felony to hire an illegal alien. We really need to get serious about the problem as we are under siege by Islamic and Mexican immigrants that don't have our best interests in mind and are destroying the country.

...making it a felony to hire an illegal alien. Why not make it a felony to be an illegal alien?
Currently, it is but a misdemeanor...

When we were stationed at Fort Riley in the 70s my brother came to visit us in 1975 from Germany. He liked it so much that he wanted to stay, but I told him he would have to go back and when his time was over he did go back.
