An 18-year-old gunman opened fire outside of a high school prom in northern Wisconsin, wounding two students before a police officer who was in the parking lot fatally shot him, authorities said Sunday.
The attack happened late Saturday outside the Antigo High School prom, said Eric Roller, the chief of police in Antigo, a community of about 8,000 people roughly 150 miles north of Milwaukee.

You can tell the race of the perp by the title. It was an 18 year old gunman, as opposed to “Teen”
This was good shooting by the cop, and a good demonstration of courage. I’d like to know what he was carrying and the distance. [Comparatively long barrel with tritium sights, or just a whole lot of range time with standard sights - in the dark?] At night, with a lot of kids wearing black, the cop was able to shoot and kill an armed person who was actively shooting. I imagine the dead criminal didn’t choose to start shooting right next to the cop, so the cop either closed the distance in the dark, without getting shot, or made a long range pistol shot in the dark.

Probably some pathetic loser who couldn’t get a date to the prom, so he thought he’d go out in a blaze of perceived glory.

I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that the girls shot were the ones he asked out and turned him down.
My Wife is from Antigo. We still have relatives there. So sad.
It’s always important to remember that the peak age for onset of schizophrenia in males is 18-25.
Almost all horrific mass shootings seem to involve young white males who were taking - or should have been taking - psychiatric medication.
This also fits the pattern for “suicide-by-police.”
One of the prime risk factors for suicide by healthy adults is schizophrenia.
